2020 may not have been the best year for a lot of people but I feel like despite all of the bad things that happened I truly lived my best life! Yes, 2020 was the year of the Global Pandemic known as COVID 19 but some AMAZING thing happened and I don’t want to forget about them! And since I’m back on the blogging train I thought I would finally do a little year end recap!! So here we go…
January 2020 – I saw Hello Dolly! at the Orpheum in Memphis and introduced my friend Kristen to live theater!
February 2020 – I turned 37 and went on a weekend trip with my friend Elizabeth to Memphis. We saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Orpheum and toured Sun Studio!
March 2020 – My BIL Shaun had a kidney transplant and I took my niece Paycen to Dallas for her spring break/her Dad’s surgery. We made the most of that last trip the week before the world shut down and went to the Dallas Aquarium, Legoland, shopping at Northpark, LUSH, and introduced P to Buc-ees! It was a great last pre-COVID trip.
April 2020 – COVID started to affect everything about our daily lives and we had to start wearing masks at work 24/7. I wrote a post about working in healthcare during COVID and it’s crazy to see how far we have come since then and how much has changed in almost a year!
May 2020 – had a month long food funeral as I prepared for weight loss surgery and ate everything I thought I would miss later during my post-surgery life. Spoiler alert, I don’t miss all that bad food as much as I thought I would.
June 2020 – had weight loss surgery!!!!
July 2020 – recovered from weight loss surgery and returned to work.
August 2020 – went on my first ever solo trip to the beach and had a freaking blast all by myself!
September 2020 – got my very first Hydrafacial and hit a HUGE weight loss milestone! I don’t think I ever even talked about it on here but I hit 199 pounds the very last day of September! Mind BLOWN y’all!!!
October 2020 – Jenn got married!!!!! And I took a little solo trip to Savannah after the wedding!!! I also took a little overnight trip to Dallas with my girl Elizabeth to see the pumpkins at the Dallas Arboretum!!
November 2020 – this blog turned TEN YEARS OLD!!! I also completed my first virtual 5K/Turkey Trot!!
December 2020 – ended the year by celebrating Christmas with my family and finally seeing them all at once. I know that goes against COVID rules but it was much needed and we all social distanced prior to seeing each other and that’s just what worked for our family.
2020 was a freaking roller coaster and in some ways I am glad it’s over but for me it was a truly life changing year and I would totally do everything over just the same in a heartbeat.
Alright 2021, let’s do this!!
