Solo Beach Trip 2020

This post contains affiliate links.

Two weeks ago I went on my first solo beach trip!!! I have done solo trips before but they are usually just overnight and never more than a few hours away. This was my first full on, 10+ hour road trip, away from home by myself and I enjoyed *almost* every single minute of it!

I went to Panama City Beach, my absolute fave, and to me it’s worth the extra few hours of driving from Arkansas. Plus I haven’t been there since 2012!! YIKES!! The white sand beaches are my fave and the views are spectacular!!! Especially if, like me, you wake up ridiculously early on vacation and get outside in time to see the sun rise. It was truly a glorious sight to see every morning.

I have had a lot of people ask me why I went alone. Honestly I went alone because I wanted to go and none of my friends were available/had the time to take off work so I went alone. I don’t want to miss out on something because I’m afraid to go alone. I would never do anything if I was always waiting on someone to do things with. HA!

I have also had people ask what I did alone at the beach and the answer to that is whatever I wanted to do. I woke up early every morning and took a walk on the beach. After that I went back to my hotel and ate breakfast and got all my beach stuff ready. Then I took it all out there and laid out on the beach, read a book and swam in the ocean all day. After I got tired of the ocean I went to the pool to swim for a bit then back to my hotel room to shower off and find something for dinner. Since I just had VSG surgery I wasn’t eating much so dinner was easy every night. Then I watched Netflix and went to sleep. My kind of trip, utterly relaxing!

And the biggest question I get is about the cost. Honestly this was one of the cheapest vacations I have ever taken because I stayed at a small, family run hotel right on the beach that I’ve stayed in many times before so while the room was the most expensive thing I paid for it was under $500 for my 4 nights there. Then I just had to pay for gas and food. Not too bad in my book!!

Earlier I said I enjoyed *almost* every minute of my trip and what I meant by that was the Saturday of my trip my phone drown and I had to go to Verizon and get a new one. That’s my luck y’all. On my first big solo drip and I kill my phone. And of course I had just paid off my last phone a few months ago and it was in perfect working order until it drown. Ughhhhh.

Overall I had an amazing time on my first solo beach trip and highly recommend it to someone if you can’t find anyone to go with you or if you just want a relaxing trip on your own! If I can do it you can to!! Enjoy your life and don’t let not having someone to do things with hold you back from doing anything you want to do!!

I love that you took a trip for yourself! You so deserved it. Nothing better than being on the beach with some books.
