In case you haven’t noticed, Netflix has some pretty amazing movies!! I used to only think of Netflix as a place to binge my favorite shows but their movie selection, especially the originals, has gotten pretty freaking amazing lately. Since I have been watching a ton of Netflix original movies lately today I thought I would share with you what I’ve been watching in case you need a good movie rec!!
ONE. The Package. Confession- I haven’t actually watched this one yet but I have read some amazing reviews on it. It has Geraldine Viswanathan from Blockers in it and I freaking love her so you know this is going to be some good, R-rated comedy.
TWO. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society. I watched this movie the other night and I loved it!!! Which is more than I can say for the book…HA! But really, I tried to read the book several times and just couldn’t get into it but I LOVE the actress that plays the main character (she’s also in the new Cinderella and Mama Mia 2) and so I had to see it and I was impressed!
THREE. A Christmas Prince. Obviously this is a Christmas movie but if you are like me then you could watch Christmas movies all year long! Plus Hallmark is already playing them so it’s time! If you love a good Hallmark Christmas movie then you will love this one!
FOUR. Set it Up. If you love a good rom com then you HAVE to watch this movie! The main character was also in Vampire Academy (and I LOVED that movie and book series) and this movie is just so GOOD!! Basically the two main characters are trying to hook their bosses up so they can get some time of work and of course there are twists and turns and it’s just really good!
FIVE. The Kissing Booth. If you need some high school drama in your life then this is the movie for you! This movie is all about best friends who have rules they follow and a shared love of dance and is really just a feel good movie. I loved this movie!
SIX. Step Sisters. This movie reminded me of college! At my small southern state school I was in a sorority and we had a sister sorority (one of the Divine Nine) who helped us learn to step and we put on a step show each year and I freaking loved it! So this movie reminded me of college and brought back sooo many good memories!!
SEVEN. You Get Me. Who loves stalker movies?? If you are into that kind of thing then this is the movie for you!! It’s got Bella Thorne and as we all know I just binged her show, Famous in Love, and so this move was perfect to watch after that binge! LOL! This movie gave me some Swim Fan vibes…if you know what I mean!
EIGHT. Candy Jar. Another high school based movie, this one is about the “nerds” (not really) who are mortal enemies in the debate world and wind having to compete together due to some unforeseen circumstances. It sort of reminded me of that Reese Witherspoon movie, Election. Loved it!!
NINE. Alex Strangelove. This is yet another high school rom com but with a twist! Sweet little Alex Strangelove can’t decide if he likes girls or guys and he has to get that figured out and STAT! I think this is the perfect “first love” story for kids today who are so much more open than when I was in school!
TEN. To The Bone. Warning! This is a GREAT movie but it may trigger some people with eating disorders. This is a fantastic movie about a girl who is suffering from eating disorders, the therapy she goes through, the affect it has on her life and her relationships and everything in between. I think this movie is a must watch and Lily Collins is AMAZING.
ELEVEN. What Happened to Monday. Psychological thrillers more your style? Then this is the movie for you! I say psychological thriller but this movie is more of a mind game. It’s set in the future when people are only supposed to have one child and somehow a man raises 7 identical daughters, names then after the says of the week and allows the only go outside on these days. The movie is about their life and what happens when one night one sister doesn’t come home.
TWELVE. When We First Met. Back with another rom com!! If you are a Pitch Perfect fan then will love this movie as much as I do because Adam Devine’s character is adorable!! This is about how the two main characters meet but with a twist, a magic photo booth and a little time travel.Trust me, you need see this!
THIRTEEN. Father of the Year. Where are my David Spade fans at?? If you were a fan of Black Sheep and Tommy Boy then you will LOVE this movie! It’s a great movie about everyday dysfunctional family life that I’m sure most people can relate to.
FOURTEEN. Like Father. Another movie about fathers and family relationships this movie stars Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammar and I’m sure you guessed, I LOVED it!! Kristen is a workaholic who gets left at the altar and Kelsey is her estranged father who comes back into her life on her wedding day and the two somehow end up on her honeymoon cruise. Again, if you are from a dysfunctional family (and who isn’t these days) then you will GET this movie and love it!!
FIFTEEN. Extinction. Alien movies more your thing? Don’t worry, Netflix has those too!! This movie is sort of an alien movie/thriller and definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat (or at least I was on the edge of my seat…HA) and it was really good!

I haven’t used this service but I would like to ditch cable and if we do it will be nice to have this list of movies to check out. The only thing is I am not sure my hubby and son would agree to get rid of Cable as they like to watch Wrestling.
