Skincare Empties – September 2018

This post contains affiliate links.

Hey hey and happy Wednesday!! I hope your week has been fabulous thus far…mine has been ridiculously busy!! But what’s new? HA! Remember last week when I shared my hair empties with you? Well this week I am sharing my skincare empties!! Like I said in last week’s post, I have been saving these since before I moved so I have more empties than normal…LOL!!

Fun fact…my skin has been in such a funk lately and I am at a point where I really want to throw away everything I use and start over with new products because nothing I am currently using is making my face feel good. Maybe it’s the transition from summer to fall? Maybe it’s the chronic perioral dermatitis that will NOT go away and seems to be spreading from just around my nose to my cheeks and making me break out like crazy?? If you are new here then you may not know that I have mad major struggles with perioral dermatitis over the years and I blogged about it a loooong time ago (the first time it got bad enough to go to the dermatologist) and it has gotten worse over the last few months and nothing my new dermatologist has prescribed me has worked on it so that’s where I am with it right now. UGH. I feel like I need to do an updated blog post on that issue.

Either way I am in a skin FUNK and would love to know what products you are using on your skin right now that you are loving!! Please comment and tell me!!

Back to today’s post…my skincare empties. Today I am sharing with you some makeup removers I am loving and a new-ish body butter that I stocked up on the last time Ulta had it in stock. OK people, let’s do this!!

ONE. Garnier Smoothing Cream Cleanser. I have used this cleanser for years and I am still obsessed with it. I remember the first time I purchased it…I was at Target and just needed a new face wash, this one was one clearance and so I grabbed a bottle. After I used it that night I immediately went back to Target and bought every bottle they had. It’s that good y’all. I thought it had been discontinued for a while but then I found it on Amazon and have been buying it there for years!

This cream cleanser is so much more than just a face wash, it actually contains no soap and gets makeup like a charm. It will get even the toughest mascara off your lashes and still be super gentle and not damage your lashes. It also leaves your face feeling super soft! I love using this as a first wash in my double cleansing routine. LOVE IT!!

PS- if you unfamiliar with double cleansing basically you just wash your face once/first with a good makeup removing cleanser and then you wash it again with a different face wash, I usually use a gentle exfoliating face wash on my second wash.

TWO. Clinique Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam. Perhaps my favorite acne face wash of all time I love this acne cleansing foam from Clinique! It’s pretty gentle on your face and yet leaves it feeling super clean and breakout free! I think I need to get some more of this to make my face feel better…UGH!! I blogged all about the Clinique Acne Solutions System here if you want to check it out!!

THREE. Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm. Cleansing balms…I LOVE cleansing balms and to think I fought so hard against using them because I didn’t think they would work and now I’m obsessed!! This Clinique  Take the Day Off CLeansing Balm is one of my faves, it really digs in to get all the makeup off, even the most stubborn mascara and things you didn’t even know were on your face…LOL!! I use it first and then follow with a good face wash!

FOUR. IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup Cleansing Balm. As much as I love the Clinique Cleansing Balm I love the IT Cosmetics version even more!! I’m not really sure why I love it more but I just do. Maybe it’s a texture thing? Maybe because it’s super light and does such a fantastic job?? Whatever the reason this is my NUMBER ONE favorite cleansing balm of all time!!

FIVE. Rodan and Fields Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream. I love a good eye cream and have heard rave reviews about this one from Rodan and Fields for years now and was super excited to try it out!! I love it and used it super sparingly but it seemed to last a long time and I love the way it made my eyes feel!!

SIX. Delectable Body Butter Cream. I got a sample of this body butter from Ulta and after one use I was hooked!! I tried to order it from their website but it was on back-order for forever and so I had to wait. As soon as I got the notification that it was back in stock you better bet I grabbed two big ole tubs of this stuff!!! Not only does it smell AMAZING but it goes on like a dream. My legs and arms have never felt so smooth and soft before!!

So there you have it, my skincare empties for September (And August, July and June…HA)!! I hope you found these reviews helpful and maybe even a new product to try?? Happy Hump Day!!

What skincare product are you obsessing over right now??

After I read your thoughts on Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm, I immediately purchased it and I love it. The only thing I don’t like about this balm is the smell. It may just be me, but it has a weird smell. But I love how it takes the day off! I see a few more skincare items I want to try. Thanks for always sharing your faves!

I am intrigued by the Clinique Take the Day Off and the Cleansing foam. I love using foams to clean with. I think they rinse off better.

I really need to start using these more often. My skin could use the help. Plus with winter coming, my skin always gets dry.

I need something new for myself so I’m right there with you. My skin is extremely dull and very dry! I am sure it has something to do with the changing in weather but I definitely need something new. I will have to check out a few of these products.

These seem like great products! My skin always goes through a little transition each time a new season starts. I like the idea of changing things up every now and then.

These look good! I love your review of your empties. These sound good. I could use some better cleansers, and these seem like they would do well with my skin.

Skincare is so important, especially the face zone that is always exposed to diffrent temperatures, sun and dust. That’s why we must use excellent skincare products. And Clinigue is one of the best!
