This past Wednesday night I made a quick trip to Memphis to see The Sound of Music at The Orpheum! First of all I am still obsessed with the Orpheum, it is so so so gorgeous!!! I am also still obsessed with these jeans I got in my last Stitch Fix!!
Just like everything in my life lately I was almost late because there was some sort of traffic accident on I-40 on my way to Memphis. The show started at 7:30 and I got there at 7:15. Ughhhhh. Thank goodness I had reserved valet parking beforehand because I would never have had time to park and then get in the theater. And before you go all “valet???” I was in Memphis alone and I don’t play with my safety alone at night, especially in downtown Memphis.
So I finally got there and was able to snap a few quick pics before the show…because hello! I’m a blogger!! HA!!!
But then I ran in, hit up the bathroom, grabbed a bottle of water and found my seat!! I got an amazing seat for this performance!! I bought my ticket a while ago and then had to exchange it for another night and got upgraded to a much better seat for an extra $20!! Thank you Ticketmaster!!
Here’s a view of the stage from my seat!!
Back to the point of this post…The Sound of Music. Y’all. This show was simply AMAZING!!! I teared up at the beginning, sang my way through the songs (I am soooo sorry to anyone who sat beside me!!!), and cried at the end!! This show did NOT disappoint. I am so glad I had the opportunity to see it and if you get the chance I hope you go see it too!!!
Thank you Orpheum Memphis for putting on a fabulous event as always!!!
Have you seen The Sound of Music??
Do you love musicals as much as I do??

I haven’t been to a live musical in quite some time. I did see the Sound of Music as a movie when I was much younger and enjoyed it.

I have always loved musicals. It started when I was watching Shirley Temple on tv as a kid. Go figure. Anyway I can’t wait to see this one. Thanks for sharing a great review and I love your shirt by the way.

I loved the movie but have not seen it in a musical stage play. It must have been so exciting to watch a live production. I wish I lived closer so I could have seen it too. Well, I just hope now that there would be performances in other areas too.
