Last week I went to see Annie in Memphis! It was a totally spur if the moment, spontaneous trip and I loved every minute of it! You see, one of my sweet nieces was supposed to have surgery last week so I took off work for that and then at the last minute her surgery was canceled and after I got the news I received an email from The Orpheum that there were some a few seats open that night for Annie! So I took that as a sign, hopped in the shower, got ready and was on my way! I wore my new Lane Bryant scarf and took this selfie right before I left…
Memphis is about a 2 and a half hour drive from my house and I usually stay the night when I go but I was feeling super pumped and decided I would be awake enough to drive home after the show. Also, last minute hotels aren’t exactly cheap in the downtown area.
Previously I have been to The Orpheum to see Matilda, The Lion King, and Mary Poppins. What can I say? I love musicals!!
I got there right before the show started and had just enough time to get a few pics outside, find the bathroom, grab a bottle of water and get to my seat!
I love the Orpheum so much! The building is just gorgeous and I had never been at Christmas and it was fun to see it all decorated!!
My seat for Annie was in the balcony, I have always sat in the Orchestra before, and it actually wasn’t too bad. The next time I go I will try to plan in advance so I can see the stage better!
I actually haven’t seen Annie since I was a kid and had forgotten some of the story. It was so much fun to see it again and this time live! I am such a musical nerd and can’t wait to go see my next show!! I bought a ticket to see Cinderella at The Robinson Center in Little Rock in January. The Robinson recently reopened and I haven’t been since it reopened so I can’t wait to go!!
I also plan on seeing RENT, The Sound of Music, and The Little Mermaid at the Orpheum next spring/summer and The Phantom of the Opera at The Robinson. I have a very busy musical season ahead of me!! I can’t wait!!
Have you seen Annie??
Do you like musicals??

I have loved the movie for years, but I have never seen the stage show. It was one of my favorites when I was a kid, so I would LOVE to see it live.
