Nashville Recap Day One

This post contains affiliate links.

Last weekend my bestie Rebekah and I drove to Nashville to see our other bestie Jenn! Funny story – we all found each other through blogging and met in first time at a blog conference in 2013. Actually Rebekah and I met right before then and drove eight hours to pick up Jenn, who we had never met in person before, and stayed the night with her and then we all drove to the conference together and stayed for a weekend. Looking back now I think we were all crazy, one of us could have been a serial killer!!! But it all worked out, no one was a murderer, and we have been besties ever since.

Rebekah and I hadn’t seen Jenn in person since then until this past NYE when we all went to Vegas together for NYE!! We seriously have the best time together. Jenn moved to Nashville last fall and Rebekah and I hadn’t been to see her yet so it was past time and even though it was hot as balls outside I think we did a pretty great job touring the city in the two days we were there!!

I was actually going to try to post about both days at the same time but that was picture overload so I am breaking the trip down into two days…LOL!! So get ready for a pic overload anyway as I get down on our first day touring Nashville!

While we were in Nashville we got around via the GrayLine trolley and double decker buses. We each bought a two day pass and it took us all over the city and we could get on or off at any of the stops. It is really the best way to see a city and get around!!

Our first trolley ride…we just got on this one and rode it from beginning to end so we could check out all the stops and make our plan for the next day.

We saw the thing I most wanted to see, the Nashville Parthenon!!

After our trolley ride we were starving so we decided to eat dessert before dinner! We went to Nashville’s GooGoo to try their Dessert Bar and it was amazing!! We split the Clark Street Original Cheesecake and the Copper Kettle Sundae! YUM!!!

GooGoo

After dessert we walked to dinner and went through Painter’s Alley…

We had reservations at Puckett’s and thank goodness because at 5:30  there was an hour and a half wait! We split the fried pickles and I got the Piggey Mac which is pulled pork topped with mac and cheese. Delish!!!

After dinner we ran back to the train station to catch our GrayLine night tour bus! This was an add on but well worth the price! We saw so much and learned a lot about the city!

And then we ended our night on the Shelby Street Bridge!

I love the story about how you all met through blogging (and the part about the serial killer, hindsight and all that). I’ve been through Nashville, but I’ve never toured the city. I’ve always wanted to, even more so after seeing you and your friends enjoying your trip.
