Visiting Boston

This post contains affiliate links.

Hallelujah it’s finally Friday!! Can I get an AMEN for Friday?? This honestly seems like it was the longest. week. ever. Ew.

So all week long I have been telling you about my epic road trip and the cities I will be visiting. So far we have covered Washington DC, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, and New York City. Today we are going to cover the last leg of the trip, Boston!!

I have never been to Boston before and I can’t wait to go!! There is just so much history there and so many cool things to do. Is it bad that I really just want to walk around Harvard and pretend like I’m a student there? LOL!!

I have a few must-do’s on my list such as tour Fenway, walk the Freedom Trail, check out the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, and walk along the waterfront.

The_Freedom_Trail

Since Salem is close to Boston I think we are going to go to Salem for the day and check out all the spooky stuff they have up there! I really want to check out the Salem Witch Trials Memorial, the Witch House,  and the old cemeteries and there are a few night walking tours which would be fun!!

IST-IS2176RM-00000028-001

How fun would that be???

I have no idea where to eat in with Boston or Salem so if you are a local or have been there before then tell me your favorite place!!

Have you been to Boston or Salem??
What was your favorite thing to do??
Where was your favorite place to eat??

I live in Boston and have been to Salem many times. Eat at the Salem Beer Works. In Boston, go to the North End :)

I grew up in New York and New Jersey but I never visited Boston. I am now wishing I had! I live in Iowa these days so it is going to be quite a trip but I will have to visit some of these places someday for sure!

We were going to go to Boston before when we were in Cape Cod, but the weather was so bad :( I do really want to go! We wanted to visit Harvard, but thankfully on our way home the GPS made us go through New Haven….YALE!! We visited there for like an hour.

Hi Ricci! Not sure if you remember me from my blogging days but I couldn’t help but comment on your Boston post! Sorry for the long comment! Enjoy your trip!!

If you’re by Fenway check out Sweet Cheeks – it’s a BBQ place! On nice days the huge front windows are wide open to the street :) There is also a Tasty Burger right there too. Both restaurants are on Boylston Street.

Legal Harborside is a great option if you want seafood & to eat on the water. It’s 3 floors with 3 menus! And outside dining!

If you love Mexican food and make it down near the Seaport District at some point during your trip you have to go to Temazcal Tequila Cantina. So delicious!

There are also a couple of food trucks to keep an eye out for! Roxy’s Grilled Cheese does all sorts of gourmet Grilled Cheese. Cameo Macaron has THE cutest pink truck and most delicious macarons! They both have websites with schedules :)

Newbury Street is another fun option to walk – it has shops & restaurants as well! I know there is a Shake Shack there and a Georgetown Cupcake if you miss it on your other stops!

Look up the “Go Boston” card!! Not sure how it works but I think you pay and end up getting deals if you are interested in doing a duck boat, going whale watching, tour of Fenway too and museums etc.!

I’ve lived in Boston my entire life – I don’t think I could ever live anywhere else! If anything – get fried clams (with bellies!) and french fries somewhere!

I’d love to visit Boston and going to Salem would be really interesting. Such history in that town and I’ve never been so I can not suggest any place to dine. Hope you have a great time.

I love Boston, there is so much history and it reminds me slightly of San Francisco. When I’m in Boston, I love visiting Newbury Street and walking through Boston Commons. I can’t wait to see the photos from your trip!

The Freedom Trail is such a unique way to look at historical sites. Old North Church, Paul Revere’s House, and Bunker Hill are a few places that were recommended to me.

I consider myself a scaredy cat that’s why I don’t like watching horror films, but that witch house is interesting. I didn’t know it exists. I think it wold be fun to check it out with my boys.
