Exploring the Memphis Zoo & Aquarium with my Nieces!

This post contains affiliate links.

Last week I took two of my nieces to the Memphis Zoo and Aquarium and we had a blast! If you have been reading this blog any amount of time then you may remember that I went to the Memphis Zoo last year and I had such a great time I knew I wanted to go again and bring a few of my nieces with me and so that’s just what I did.

There is so much to see at the Memphis Zoo that I don’t have at my local zoo. They have panda bears, a stingray feeding experience, a sea lion show, a camel riding experience, a giraffe feeding experience and so much more!

We were there for seven hours and were able to see everything and do all we wanted to. If my niece, Paycen, had her way we would have stayed longer because she wanted to play in the splash pad all day but we had to leave to beat traffic. LOL!!

Anyway, enough rambling, let’s get to the photos! I didn’t take nearly as many photos as I did last time, in fact I skipped the animal pics and instead took lots of pics of my crazy nieces! I loved seeing their faces as they got to experience all the Memphis Zoo had to offer!

Here are Kyndyl and Paycen in front of the waterfall at the Teton Trek…

And here they are feeding and petting the stingrays…

And here they are feeding the giraffes (this is my FAVORITE thing to do at the zoo)…

And last, but not least, here they are riding a camel. Funny story- before we left central Arkansas on our way to the zoo Paycen swore she was NOT going to ride a camel. But when it came time to do it she jumped right up there! I love that she was so brave!!

And that was the gist of our day. One thing I didn’t get a pic of was us eating with the monkeys. If you choose to eat at the Memphis Zoo like we did you have to eat at the Cat House Café because it’s right next to the monkey exhibit and they have huge windows that the monkeys come right up to and watch you while you eat. They were so cute and funny and the girls absolutely loved it!

So if you live around Memphis I highly suggest going to the Memphis Zoo!! It is completely worth the drive and you will LOVE it!!

Have you been to the Memphis Zoo and Aquarium??
What is your favorite animal to see at the zoo??

There are zoos and aquariums by us but not all in one like this one. You gave your nieces a great experience and bonding session. I will not miss this if I am in Memphis.

Sounds like you had a fun-filled day with your nieces! Always a joy to spend time with them. I took my niece to the Safari last summer when she was visiting from Europe and she absolutely loved it.

Feeding the giraffes and stingrays would make a trip to the Memphis Zoo one to remember! This would be a lot of fun.

That looks like a fun zoo to visit. I used to frequent the zoos in the area when I lived in Illinois, they have some fun ones too. I like the looks of this one.
