Vests I’m Obsessed with for Fall

Let me just preface this post by saying that I am NOT a fashion blogger…HA! I wear scrubs at work and pj’s at home and only wear jeans and once or twice a week. That being said I am a huge fan of comfy casual and have become slightly obsessed with vests as of late.

I guess the obsession started last year when I was looking for something to wear to the Texas Tech game in Dallas and found this super cute vest at Old Navy. It was perfect and of course after the trip I decided I wanted more vests like it and as my luck would have it they were all sold out! I decided that this year I wouldn’t miss out and told myself that as soon as I saw them either online or in store I would grab more and I did!! I also found a super cute vest at Nordstrom I’m going to share with you today!!

So enough talking, let’s see the vests!

First things first, I prefer the Old Navy Quilted Vests over the puffy vests any day of the week. The puffy ones are too warm for me and the are just bulky. The quilted vests are more streamlined and I don’t overheat in them! I love to wear mine with skinny jeans, a long sleeved tee and booties. In these pics I wore the same jeans, tee and booties just so you could see the fit of the vests also, I took these before work and didn’t have to time change my outfit a million times. You know what I mean? HA!

I am seriously loving olive green for fall! This vest is such a pretty olive and would look great with any skin tone! It’s such a great neutral and you can wear pretty much any color top under it. I prefer tees but I have seen these vests pairs with light sweaters and even sweatshirts.

Like I said earlier, I have it in a few colors and I am not even ashamed to admit that! I love these vests!! This plum color vest would also be great with pretty much any color top under it!

Basic black…my OG Old Navy Quilted vest!! This is the vest that started the obsession…LOL!! It may be basic but it can be anything you want it be. Dress it up, dress it down, wear it around the house, who cares? Make it your own!!

And last, but certainly not least, the HOT PINK vest!! I was browsing Nordstrom online and came across this bad boy, fell in love and ordered i on the spot!! I was nervous about the sizing because I had never purchased from this brand before but I can say that it runs pretty true to size, if not maybe a little large?? I got an XL in it and an XL in all of my Old Navy vests!

Now let’s talk about tees. I live for a good basic tee. All of my long sleeve tees are either from Target or Maurice’s. I have talked about my Maurice’s 24/7 tee obsession and they make some pretty amazing basic tees that are thick enough not to be see through and still hold their shape. However lately I have been purchasing my tees from Target because they are about half the price and are still great tees! The striped long sleeve tee I am wearing in today’s post is from Ava and Viv, Target’s plus size line and I am wearing a 1X in it.

Whoever says you shouldn’t wear horizontal stripes is WRONG! Plus some rules are just made to be broken…LOL!! I love this tee and pretty much anything that is black and white striped.

And now on to the jeans. Any time I post anything fashion related (you know, once or twice a year) I always get questions about my jeans! My current fave pair, and the pair I am wearing for today’s post, are from Old Navy. I actually haven’t worn any Old Navy jeans for years until earlier this year and I was packing for Seattle and was in Old Navy for something else and randomly tried on these jeans. I loved them and have been purchasing them ever since.

My favorite jeans of theirs are these Rockstar Mid Rise Super Skinny Jeans. Now don’t let the “super skinny” part scare you. They are tight but they have a lot of stretch and will hug your curves in all the right places! I love that they don’t gap in the waist and don’t fall down halfway through the day. Because how annoying is it to be constantly having to pull up your pants all day?? Not anymore!!

And last but not least I’m going to talk about my booties!! I am absolutely obsessed with these booties. I am sad to say that I can’t find them anywhere online but I linked a similar pair here you can check out for yourself. I actually got mine on Poshmark a few years ago when I really wanted to try a pair but didn’t want to spend a lot of money on them in case they were uncomfortable. Needless to say I loved them and have worn them a LOT the past couple of years. I have purchased a couple of other pairs since then but have returned them all because I keep going back to these. I hope nothing ever happens to them!! LOL!!

For anyone who asks, these are the Lucky Brielley Booties! If you can find them I say snatch them up!! You won’t regret it at all!!
