Makeup Empties – October 2018

This post contains affiliate links.

I think that if you just saw me on the street you would think I was someone who was really into makeup. The truth is that it takes me about 5 minutes to put on a “full face” of makeup because I spend way too much time on my hair. HA! Plus I have always been more into the natural look and way more into skincare than makeup because if you have a great foundation to work with (clear, hydrated skin) then you don’t have to use much makeup. Just me two cents…anyway today I am here to share with you my makeup empties from the last couple of months.

As with my hair empties and skincare empties post I have been saving these since before I moved so I may have more than usual to share with you today.

Going back and reading that first paragraph I wrote I didn’t mean to sound like I wasn’t into makeup, because I am! I just don’t like to spend a lot of time on it and if I can get away with using a multipurpose product and use the least amount of products then I totally will!!

The products I am showing you today are part of what I wear every day. I typically wear a foundation, under eye concealer, blush, bronzer, setting powder, brow product and mascara. And yes, all of that only takes me 5 minutes or less to slap on. HA! So let’s see what empties I have for you today…

ONE. IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact (Medium). This has been my go-to foundation for a while now. I love the creamy texture and the fact that is has skincare built into it! That doesn’t mean that I skip skincare before I use this product, I just think of the serums in it as a bonus. I use the medium color in the fall/winter/spring and the medium tan in the summer.

TWO. IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Blush (Je Ne Sais Quoi). This blush has been a favorite of mine for well over a year now. I love how it glides over the skin and leaves you looking airbrushed and the color is fabulous on just about every skin tone!

THREE. IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Bronzer (Beach). IT Cosmetics actually sent me this bronzer in a PR package earlier this summer and it is GORGEOUS and then I broke it in the move and I may or may not have cried real tears over it. If you need a fantastic bronzer then I highly suggest this one!!

FOUR. Tarte Hamptons Weekender Contour Palette. I freaking loved this entire palette!! It contains a highlighter, blush and bronzer and I used the blush and bronzer until they were completely gone. I got this after I broke the IT Cosmetics bronzer and used up my IT Cosmetics blush so it was perfect timing I guess?? The colors were great for summer so even if I hadn’t run out I would probably have retired it for fall.

FIVE. L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara. I love me some mascaras. I have almost gotten to the point of only buying travel/mini sizes so I can try more but this is one I’m glad I grabbed in a full size. I have a thing for drugstore mascara and Loreal makes the best!! This Lash Paradise compares to the Better Than Sex and is half the price. You definitely get your money’s worth and I will definitely purchase again!

SIX. Benefit Bad Girl Bang Mascara. I actually grabbed this when I was in Seattle back in February and finally used it up over the summer. I normally don’t like the type of brush that comes with this mascara but it is AMAZING with this mascara!! You have to try it to see what I’m talking about! Worth the price? Most definitely!

SEVEN. Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Lift. I also grabbed this in Seattle and used up every bit of it. If you have chronic under eye bags and circles like myself then you really need to try this product! It really is like an instant eye lift!

And there you have it, my most recent makeup empties. And for your viewing pleasure…my every day, less than 5 minutes “full” makeup face!! HA!!

What makeup product have you used up that you LOVED??
What was your most recent makeup purchase??

You look gorgeous and I love the natural, put-together look! That’s my style! I rarely wear foundation, but I recently discovered Elta Tinted moisturizer. It has sun block in it, and even though it’s just tinted, I feel like it gives me a glow. Thanks for all your tips! I’m going to try them out!

I’m similar to you. I don’t wear or buy makeup a lot, but I enjoy it. Now skincare is my thing and that’s where I drop the big cash to get “perfect” skin haha (still trying to find it though ) ;)

So true that it’s better to invest time i skincare rather than make up, I think make up looks better when my skin is OK anyway. I recently got Benefit Precision Brow and I love it!

I’m excited to try some of these like the blusher, because I totally agree with your review of IT Cosmetics powder and L’Oreal mascara vs. Better Than Sex. Spot on! I’m still on the hunt for the right bronzer and foundation! I’m using Dior right now and it’s nice but disappears in photos… hard to explain.

I haven’t tried many of these products, but I’m definitely interested in a few of the IT Cosmetics ones mentioned. I’m looking for a new foundation, so many I’ll have to try that brand!

I would love to check out the one that eliminates pores. That would greatly help me!
