Scape Brunch in St. Louis

This post contains affiliate links.

Last week I talked about my quick trip to St. Louis for Labor Day Weekend and even wrote a whole post about visiting the Gateway Arch up close and personal. Well hold on to your seats because today I am going to talk about a very yummy part of the trip…brunch!!

Rebekah and I both put out feelers on social media on where the best brunch in St. Louis was and got zero replies….booooo! So instead we had to rely on the one person who wouldn’t let us down, Sir Google himself. I am a Google loving fool. I literally Google everything (someone please erase my Google search history when I die…k? Thanks! WHEW!) and so when the number one hit when I Googled “best brunch in St. Louis” was Scape American Bistro (Scape) we knew we had to go.

Scape was named “Best Brunch in St. Louis” by the Riverfront Times and is located in Central west End’s Maryland Plaza. The restaurant itself was gorgeous and we had outdoor seating and luckily for us it was the perfect day to sit outside. We were surrounded by gorgeous ivy covered walls and sculptures, it was truly something out of a modern day fairytale!

To start with our waitress brought us the beignets of the day which were filled with french vanilla custard and holy moly they were melt in your mouth amazing!! Pretty sure I was covered in powder sugar but the time I finished mine but it was worth every single bite!

Everything on the menu looked and sounded amazing and I couldn’t just decide on one thing so I ordered both the Shrimp and Grits (with andouille sausage) and the Farmer’s Cheese pancakes. First of all let’s talk about these Shrimp and Grits…

…are those not the biggest shrimp you have ever seen in your whole entire life?? The grits were really smooth and super cheesy, just how I like them!! I really wanted to eat the whole thing but I and to save room for my pancakes…

…these are the Farmer’s Cheese Pancakes and are regular pancakes topped with ricotta, lemon curd and fresh blueberries. They were amazing and kind of reminded me of the bonuts from Biscuit Love?? I could literally only eat the top pancake but that’s ok, it was the best thing I have eaten in a long time!

I felt kind of weird ordering two entrees but in the end I didn’t even care because I got the best of both worlds, something salty and something sweet and it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten!!

So if you ever in St. Louis I would highly recommend brunch at Scape!!

Have you ever been to St. Louis??
What’s your favorite St. Louis brunch spot??

That looks absolutely amazing! I would love to have brunch there. Brunch should be an official daily thing in my opinion. If I could have brunch everyday, I’d never miss breakfast or lunch. OM nom nom.

Okay, I am not a fan of grits. But….that shrimp n’ grits looks absolutely mouth-watering. I would definitely try that if I would ever get there.
