Lubbock Trip

This post contains affiliate links.

Last weekend Rebekah and I took a little trip to Lubbock Texas!!

rnr

We drove from my house to Dallas and then flew to Lubbock. It was cheaper to do it that way and plus we got to spend some quality time in Dallas on the way home! We also decided to only pack carry-ons for this trip. We are both over packers and this was quite the challenge but we both made it work! I am so proud of us!! I also had to have a McDonald’s Carmel Frappe in the airport before takeoff…yum!!

I have gotten a lot of questions as to why in the world we went to Lubbock Texas of all places. I am not going to lie, this sexy man is the entire inspiration for the trip…

…hello Kliff Kingsbury you gorgeous man you!!! He is the head football coach for Texas Tech in case you didn’t know.  Neither is us had ever been to Lubbock before so there’s also that! My stepmom’s family is also from Lubbock so it was really fun to see where she is from and now I can picture it when she talks about it. And last, but not least, the Texas Tech football team had been killing it and we really wanted to see them play in person! So lots of reasons but the main one was the sexy coach, naturally, hey KK!!!

We got to Lubbock on Friday just in time to hit up a parade! Did I also mention that we chose to go on Homecoming weekend? We didn’t know that when we bought our tickets but it turned out to be perfect! My favorite part of the parade was seeing the Masked Rider! So much fun!!

After the parade we just walked around campus and soaked it all in. If you have never been to Texas Tech then you should definitely go if only to walk around the campus. It is truly gorgeous!! Here are some of my favorite shots…

…funny story behind this statue. First of all let me introduce you to Will Rogers and Soapsuds. They are not normally covered in red crepe paper but the Saddle Tramps club wraps him up before games for good luck! He also gets wrapped in black crepe paper to mourn tragedies. Rumor has it that the statue is positioned at an angle so that Soapsuds (the horse’s) butt is turned toward Texas A&M, one of Tech’s biggest rivals. HA!!

Texas Tech is truly a gorgeous campus that is seriously huge and is steeped in tradition. I loved getting to walk around and take in it’s beauty.

Later this week I will talk more about all the amazing local food we ate while in Lubbock and of course KK and the football game!!

Have you ever been to Lubbock Texas??
