Chicken and Wild Rice Soup {recipe}

This post contains affiliate links.

If you have read this blog for any amount of time then you know am a soup fanatic!! Soup is definitely a comfort food for me and since it tastes even better on the second day, that is perfect for this single lady!

Some of my favorite soups are Faux-tato Soup, Cheeseburger Soup, Creamy Chicken Veggie Soup, Creamy Taco Soup, and Lighter Lasagna Soup. Please forgive the terrible photos in some of those, I am working on going back and redoing my recipe posts which is both delicious and time consuming!

Today I want to introduce you to my newest soup recipe, Chicken and Wild Rice Soup…

chickenwildrice

This is similar to the stuff you find in a can but it’s sooooo much better!! But isn’t anything homemade just that much more better than the canned varieties?! Speaking of homemade soups being better than canned, I recently came across some recipes for homemade cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soups that I want to try…has anyone made those? I feel like the canned versions keep getting more and more expensive and I use those a lot!!

Back to this yummy soup…I am in the process of cleaning out my pantry and found this long forgotten box of wild rice and decided that I needed to do something with it! I get on these kicks and call them “iron pantry” where I clean out my pantry and make a meal using only what I find in there. Some recipes are hits, some are misses, but it’s always a good time creating something only with what I have on hand!

This soup is pretty easy to make since you just throw everything into the crockpot for a few hours! Again, if you know me then you know I love a good quick and easy recipe that doesn’t take all day and doesn’t have any weird, unpronounceable ingredients in it. I’m a simple girl who like yummy food.

What is your favorite soup recipe??

    My favorite soup recipe is the class Chicken Noodle soup. I try to make it from scratch whenever I can and use different grains instead of the noodles.
