On Wednesdays I usually share with you products I am currently LOVING…hence the name, WILW (What I’m Loving Wednesday) but today I am actually going to share with you a couple of product “misses”, hence the name change today.
I really hate when I get excited to try a new product and it’s a flop. Let’s see which products flopped in my book…
First up, NYX ZaZaZu Lucious Volume Mascara and NYX XXL Lush Lashes Mascara. I bought both of these on a trip to Ulta this past summer. I had heard great things about NYX products and knew I wanted to try something and just happened to be in the new market for some new mascara (this was before I found my Younique 3D Fiber Lashes) and these just happened to be buy one get one half off so I had to give it a shot! Both of these had big thick brushes and looked like they were going to be perfect but they both went on really thin and just didn’t do anything for me. I hate that I didn’t like them but I will definitely try some more NYX products in the future!! Just not the mascara…LOL!
Another mascara flop for me was Loreal’s Voluminous Butterfly Mascara. Loreal carries one of my favorite drugstore mascaras so I was expecting a lot with this one but it just didn’t give me any volume at all. I really don’t like those little brushes but I trusted Loreal would be different and I was wrong. Boo!
My last flop for today are two Pond’s moisturizers. While I was staying with my sister and her family for a few days I accidentally left my very favorite moisturizer and so when I got home I went to Target and grabbed these two from the travel size aisle. Thank goodness I only spent $1 a piece on these because they just didn’t work for me. I am used to gel moisturizers and these were cream based. I grabbed a night time moisturizer and a day time one and both were just super thick and actually felt dry when I put them on my face?? It was weird!! Needless to say I ran back and got my old standby! I hate that these didn’t work for me because I love the other Pond’s products I have tried. Oh well.
I guess this just goes to show you that not every product works for everyone. I am sure there are people out there that just love these products and I wish I did!!

I hate when I purchase products and it’s a flop. I just purchased some lip gloss and my lips broke out in a rash- gross! This has never happen to me before!
Ponds has come a long way. My Grandmother has used Ponds since forever. It’s good to see a product that has consistency in it’s results.
It’s always such a bummer when you buy something new and don’t like it! It’s good to share those experiences so others can avoid them!
As a beauty blogger myself I get sent a few products from time to time. Some of the products are not great, so often I try out new ones without being excited and then I get surprised when I fall in love with something… I have a few products on my shopping list that I am planning to buy once I run out of the freebies I have been given…

Darn, it’s disappointing to hear that you didn’t like the Butterfly mascara by L’Oreal. I actually have that exact mascara sitting unopened in my makeup drawer.
I usually love NYX too but I was not a fan of their mascara either. My friend keeps trying to get me on board with the younique – I just dont know if I want to break away from my favorite brand
