Happy Monday! I am excited to finally get caught up on my monthly book posts starting this week!! My monthly book posts are some of my favorite posts to write and I hate being so far behind in posting them. Even though I’m so far behind I have been keeping up with the books I’ve been reading in the notes section of my phone so all I have to do is get them posted. Wish me luck!
As you probably know by now, one of my New Year’s Resolutions this year is to read 120 books. Hence the reason for these monthly blog posts, to keep up with the number of books I have read for the year. So far this year (including this month) I have read 93 books! I am killing my goal and I love it!
I feel like every time I write these posts I always get asked how I read so many books and my answer is always the same…AUDIOBOOKS. I listen to books when I get ready in the morning, when I’m in the car, when I clean the house, etc. Some people don’t count audiobooks as books but I do!
Enough with the rambling, let’s get to the books!
ONE – FOUR. Callahan Garrity Series by Mary Kay Andrews {Heart Trouble, Strange Brew, Midnight Clear, Irish Eyes}. I restarted this series way back in June and finally (mostly) finished it up this month. This is the Callahan Garrity series and is about Callahan (duh) who owns a cleaning business with her elderly mother and she solves crimes as a Private Investigator on the side. I love this series because it’s such a great souther read. Callahan and her Mother have such a great relationship (most of the time) and the ladies who clean for them are a HOOT. If you need a good, quick, southern chick lit series then you have to check this one out.
FIVE. The Library of the Lost and Found by Phaedra Patrick. This is actually the second book by this author (the first one is here) I have read and I LOVED it! This book is about a librarian who discovers a book left on her doorstep with a forward written to her by her late grandmother who died mysteriously many years before. This leads the woman on a search for answers and digging up clues about her own past. Overall I loved this book and would love to read more from this author.
“A heartwarming and tender tale of growth and redemption…. Curl up by the fire with a cup of tea and a biscuit and be entranced by this delightful story.” —Library Journal
SIX. Everlasting Rose by Dhonelle Clayton. This is second book in the Belles series (I read the first one last year) and it’s about the remaining Belles who have been on the run. Basically it’s a continuation of the first one and I really liked it.
SEVEN – THIRTEEN. Morganville Series by Rachel Caine {Midnight Alley, Feast of Fools, Lord of Misrule, Carpe Corpus, Fade Out, Kiss of Death, Ghost Town}. And then of course I red more of the Morganville Vampire series! It’s pretty cheesy but I loved it anyway!! If you need a good, quick read and like YA then you will like this series!
And there you have it, all of the books I read in the month of July. You can also check out all of the books I read in January, February, March, April, May and June. And if we have the same taste in books you can check out my favorite chick lit authors here!
