Happy Friday!! Today is officially the first Friday of August. How is that even possible?! In some ways I feel like summer has just really gotten started and in others I am so ready for it to be over and for fall to get here ASAP. Is is just me??
Anyway, let’s quit talking about the end of summer and start talking about today’s Friday Five! If you are new around here then you should know that I reserve Fridays for talking about five things, usually random things but occasionally there’s a theme. Today is my usual randomness. HA! Here we go…
ONE. I love the graphic I made for my monthly “Hello” post and I only wish I was on a beach somewhere soaking up the sun…
TWO. I went to St. Louis with one of my work friends Kassie earlier this week. I plan on blogging about our whole adventure soon but in the mean time here we are at Busch Stadium after the Cubs lost to the Cardinals.
THREE. I went to see the Lion King last night with another work friend and I LOVED IT!! I am proud to say that I only teared up twice during the whole thing! I’ve seen some pretty bad reviews of the movie and wasn’t sure how I would feel about the whole CGI animals thing but I truly did love it. It stayed true to the animated version and the voices were incredible!
FOUR. My sweet Sophie pup had some kid of weird GI Bug last week and she was so sick but I am happy to report that she is back to her usual sassy self. I swear she was on her death bed when I called the vet to make her an appointment and that crazy girl ran inside and jumped all over the vet and his techs like nothing was wrong with her at all. I’m sure they thought I was crazy but she’s fine now and for that I am thankful!!
FIVE. If you have been following me at all for any length of time then you know I’ve been on a weight loss journey for some time now. Like all things in life it has its ups and downs and I hit a plateau recently and have been getting super discouraged with myself (but I have been slacking on the whole eating right thing so I know that’s my problem, sigh…) when the pic on the left popped up in my Facebook memories from a trip I took to Philadelphia four years ago.
I remember this day like it was yesterday, I was on a night time tour of Philly and we had just gotten to the Rocky steps. You had the option of actually running up the steps of just staying with the bus and I chose to stay with the bus because I wasn’t sure could make it to the top. The pic on the right is from a few weeks ago and that girl is so much stronger that the girl on the left. That girl may not always watch what she eats but she works out 5 days a week, has so much more confidence and would totally run up the Rocky steps if given the chance. Maybe one day I will get the chance to do it again.
All of that was just to say that even if it feels like you have hit a plateau in your weight loss journey you need to remind yourself just how far you have come and that you can do whatever you put your mind to!!
I hope your Friday goes fast and that you have a wonderful weekend!!
