ONE. I recently talked about going to the Memphis Zoo with my nieces and all of the fun we had. Well on our way out of town we stopped by the Bass Pro Pyramid and took the elevator to the top and walked out on the glass balcony. It was crazy tall and we got a group shot of the three of us…

…and some pretty amazing views of Memphis!

TWO. I have been reading a LOT lately and a few of the books have been sort of deep so I decided to find a new fantasy/vampire series because one always needs a good vampire book series in their life, am I right? So I stumbled across the Morganville Vampire series and honestly I thought it sounded a bit cheesy but once I started it I got sucked in! It’s so good! As I type this I am on book 3 and I can’t wait to finish it!! So if you need a little break from reality, you have to check this series out!
THREE. Speaking of reading a LOT, I have been doing most of my reading by the pool these days. I LOVE reading by the pool because it makes me read actual books instead of e-books or audiobooks and I love that! I recently finished The Hopefuls by Jennifer Close and it was pretty good, if a little depressing. I will give a full report on it in my month “What I’m Reading” blog post but the main character just felt so negative throughout the book??

FOUR. I recently splurged and purchased this Drunk Elephant Vitamin C Serum. I have had my eye on it for a while and decided to take the plunge and I have mixed thoughts on it. Yes, it is supposed to be an AMAZING serum but it feels so tacky even when it’s allegedly dried down?? Is it supposed to feel that way?? All the reviews I have read say it’s AMAZING but even those who LOVE say it’s sticky/tacky feeling even when it’s dry. So I don’t know if I’m going to keep it but I’m going to keep trying to like it for a few more days before I decide about it. If you’ve used it let me know what you think!!

FIVE. And last, but certainly not least, let’s talk about Planet Fitness!! Y’all know I’ve been a member there for a few years now and it has soooo many AMAZING things to love about it…open 24 hours, the BEST massage chairs, great equipment, it’s a judgement-free zone, AMAZING perks for Black Card members, free classes and personal training, SUPER AFFORDABLE and the list goes on. If you are a member then you probably know that it’s also a kid-free zone but this summer Planet Fitness is offering the Teen Summer Challenge where any teen (age 15-18) can join for free! How cool is that?! I LOVE that Planet Fitness is opening it’s doors to teens to get their workout on in a safe environment! So if you know any teens who would benefit from this then pass it on!!

And there you have it friends, this week’s edition of the Friday Five! I hope you have a fabulous weekend!!
I love that Planet Fitness is a judgment-free zone. It’s also awesome that they are offering a teen summer challenge this summer.
My kiddo is begging to go to planet fitness. He still too young for it but I’m glad that they are starting to open the doors two younger kids. As long as the kids take it seriously I have no problem with them being at the gym.
I need to get to Memphis one of these days. I’ll have to try the serum as well. It sounds like one that I’d like. I’ll check out the book too!
My kiddos love when we visit out of town zoos. We will have to keep this zoo in mind when we are in town
I like that your five is so genuine! Like, real life!!! AND, I LOVE that Planet Fitness is open to 15 year olds this summer. My daughter turned 15 two weeks ago, and we just moved, so it’s time to find a new gym.
What an awesome challenge by Planet Fitness! This will be a perfect way to spend time together with your teen(s).
A Planet Fitness opened up near us and I’ve been interested. I keep hearing good things about it.
My friend is obsessed with the drunk elephant serum. I am afraid to take the plunge.
I am dreaming of reading by the pool! The kids are almost old enough to swim without me being in the water with them. And we love the zoo too!
It looks like all of you had a ton of fun together. It’s laid back and just chill out there I suppose. I think that is an amazing view.
Reading by the pool is the best way to relax with a yummy cocktail! These I call a good vacation!
The book looks fascinating! The Pyramid just went on my to-do list for Memphis, and I would hate a serum that feels tacky even after drying. To me that means that the serum wasn’t penetrating the top layer of skin.
We have Planet Fitness nearby. Sounds like a great place for a daily workout! I want to try that serum too!
Those views of Memphis are indeed amazing! Visiting Memphis is on my list. Hope we get to visit soon.
You just made me want to pick that book up. I did hear it’s pretty interesting.
This is a great post! It looks like a great place to hang out with my friends.
