If you know me at all then you know that I value being comfy over almost anything. If a shoe hurts, I’m not wearing it. If something fits too tight, I’m not wearing it. If I can’t sit comfortably in it, I’m not wearing it. The point is I like being comfy and I also like any and everything that is black and white striped so when the two things come together in the same super cute, super comfy article of clothing I am all over it! So today I am sharing with you my favorite black and white striped sweatshirt!
Now I know some people are all “ewwwww!! A sweatshirt??” But here me out. This thing is not only super comfy (like a sweatshirt should be) but it’s actually super cute all at the same time! It is black and white horizontal striped (thin stripes, nit big rugby type stripes) and has rushed sleeves with bows on the end!!! I literally died when I saw it online and I ordered it immediately!! I’m proud to say that it actually sat in my closet for a week before I busted it out the day after Thanksgiving and I may or may not have also worn it the two days after that. HA!!
Some people also think that stripes make them look bigger but I disagree. Some stripes can make you seem bigger (think large rugby type stripes) but thin stripes can actually make you look smaller. But if you like the look then wear it anyway, who cares what anyone else thinks?
I paired this sweatshirt with my all time favorite jeans (BEST plus size jeans EVER and they are on SUPER SALE) and my new Nikes. I got them to wear to the Texas Tech game and have worn them several times since. Not only are they super cute but they are weirdly comfy. I am weird about shoes, I have super high arches and wide feet so when I find a pair of shoes I love I will literally live in them. They were already on sale when I bought them but Nordstrom has reduced them again for Black Friday and Cyber Monday so grab them while they are cheap!! I also got this pair and they are marked down again!!
Back to the sweatshirt…even though I consider myself plus size (I wear a size 16 or 18 jeans) I was able to grab this sweatshirt in the “regular” section in an XL. It is from Nordstrom and is their house brand, Halogen. An XL in Halogen is supposedly a size 16 but since I have a larger chest I have always had to buy bigger tops. I was impressed that this sweatshirt fit with plenty of room to spare. I may or not have ordered a few more Halogen tops and will show you all of them when I get them in. Halogen just may be my new favorite brand!!
So there you have it, my new favorite black and white striped sweatshirt in a smaller size that I have been able to wear in years. Praise Jesus and Hallelujah! This whole eating right and working out has really paid off…even if this is “just a sweatshirt”. HA!

I haven’t worn a sweatshirt in a very long time. This one is super cute though. Im just sad that it doesn’t get cold enough very often in DFW, TX to need long sleeves.
