I’m finally back in blog land!! I went to Ohio earlier this week, by way of Nashville, and had a great time seeing friends and family. And as much fun as traveling is, getting home is even better!! I appreciate my bed more than ever and the quietness of my daily routine. I have even decided on a new routine for this blog…if you aren’t a blogger then you have no idea the amount of work, time, effort, and mostly just time that goes into each and every blog post. Besides coming up with ideas for blog posts and writing them you also have to take photos, edit them, promote any and all blog stuff on social media, check and respond to social media and then do it all over again the next day. It’s overwhelming sometimes!
I used to think I had to publish content to this blog five days a week and at this point in my life it’s just too much. I have decided that quality over quantity is better and even though I have talked about that before on this blog I never really and truly believed it. But now I am really doing it. I am valuing quality over quantity and my new blog schedule will be Mon/Wed/Fri until I decide otherwise…there may be a random post on a Tuesday or a Thursday if I’m just feeling fancy but I will try my best to stick to only that schedule.
Back to our regularly scheduled programming…today I am sharing with you my March Reads! As you know one of my New Year’s Resolutions was to read 50 books. Including this month I am at 20. Maybe I should have made my resolution to read 100 books?? LOL!! Anyway, this month I read/listened to a lot of great books in March and I can’t wait to share them with you. In no particular order, here we go…
ONE. I Hate Everyone, Except You by Clinton Kelly. Y’all. I love me some Clinton Kelly. And I mean I really LOVE me some Clinton Kelly. I have been a fan of his since the early days of What not to Wear and now The Chew. I love how witty he is and I love how real and honest he is. I love that he actually responds to people on social media (he tweeted me twice!!!) and he is just hilarious! After reading this book of his I really feel like we are spirit animals and I loved getting to know more about him. If you love CK as much as I do then you have to read this book!!!
TWO. Orange is the New Black by Piper Kerman. I have loved this Netflix show for a couple of years now and I can’t wait for the new season to come out!! I have been meaning to read this book for a while now and finally got the chance to listen via audiobook. It was very different from the show but I still liked it. I like the show better, hello drama, but the book was definitely a good read!
THREE. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey. I actually saw this movie when it came out a while ago and loved it. I keep waiting on more movies but it hasn’t happened yet so I decided to read to series. I kind of broke one of my “rules” by watching the movie first, but I really loved the book!! I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!!
FOUR. The Girl Before by JP Delaney. This book was on the “similar to Gone Girl” list at my library and unlike most of there books on the list this one was pretty damn good!! I didn’t figure it out until the very end!! Such a page turner!! If you are into murder/mystery then you have to read this book!!
FIVE. The Girls by Emma Cline. I have seen this book on my “suggested reads” on my library’s app for a long time now but never read it. It was an interesting read about a girl growing up in the 70’s and a cult but I thought it was kind of long?
SIX. The Marriage Pact by Michelle Richmond. I got this as part of a pre-release blogger program and I really loved it!! It comes out July 25 2017 and is very newlywed/secret pact/mystery amaze! I loved it and if you like James Patterson books then you will love this one!
SEVEN. Cross the Line by James Patterson. And speaking of James Patterson I also read the latest Alex Cross book this month. I remember the day I said I would never get into these books because the series was “too long” but I’m glad I took the plunge. I have loved following this series and this latest book did not disappoint!! LOVE me some Alex Cross!!
So there you go, my March Reads! You can check out my January and February reads in case you missed those posts. If you have any reading suggestions for my April reads let me know!!

All these sound interesting. It’s been a while since I finished my last book. We have a long holiday next week and I’ll have time to read. I will add these books to my list.

I am always looking for a great book so thanks for sharing your list. I have been blogging 5 days a week for about a month now. I do not know how long I will keep it up but since it is my full-time job I feel it is a good thing to do. I imagine I will take breaks now and then because it is exhausting. Not the blogging so much as the promoting of the articles. You know how it is lol

If blogging was my full time job I would probably do it five days a week also, alas it isn’t so therefore I am cutting back.

I am going to check out The Girl before me. It sounds like a book that I will enjoy. The last book that I read was “Easy Like Sunday Morning.” It was a page turner but it kinda left me hanging. It was the first book in a series. I usually go after free books on kindle.

I didn’t know that Orange is the New Black was a book too. I’ll have to check that out, I love the Netflix series.

I love reading about fashion and/or black history. The last book I read was “The Face That Changed It All” by Beverly Johnson. It’s such a great memoir that gives an awesome insight into fashion history since she’s such an icon in the industry.

This is a great list of books. My son just loved the 5th wave book. He did not like the movie as much as the book though. Sounds like you had a great trip, welcome back!
