New Year Resolutions. I have to admit that I am normally not a fan. I think the past couple of years I didn’t even make any or if I did I called them goals and not resolutions. HA. Try as I might I can’t avoid them this year. I have some things I want to accomplish and I might as well put them out there so I can be held accountable and if I’m doing it right I might as well call them what they are, resolutions. So here we go…
ONE. Whole 30. I have been needing to do this for a while now but am just now taking the plunge. I have seen several friends have amazing results on it and have always raved about how good they felt after it was over and so I finally think I am ready. I am ready for a good detox, my body needs it so so so bad! I have a couple friends who are doing it with me so I won’t be alone!! However I’m not starting until next week so until then I am eating all the sugar, grains, and dairy I can! HA!
TWO. Work out. I joined a gym last week and I can’t wait to get off my butt and go workout! HA! I joined one with a month to month contract so I can quit at any time, I hate being locked into a contract especially when I quit going. I always have these big plans of going to the gym every single day and putting in these huge workouts but realistically I just want to go two or three times a week and move my body.
THREE. Be more decisive. I wish I was one of those people who could make a decision and then act on it. I am so wishy washy about things and it takes me forever to make a true decision on something and then even longer to actually make it happen. I have been saying I was going to sell my house for about a year and a half now. Have I even done anything about it? Nope! Big decisions like that make me nervous so I have been putting it off. Well no more! This is year I am going to make things happen.
FOUR. Self care. This sort of goes along with Whole 30 and workout but this year I really want to take care of my body. I need to have my other varicose vein surgery and I really just want to do a better job of taking care of myself. I want to be more diligent about my nightly skin care routine and I want to me more mindful of wearing sunscreen everyday.
FIVE. Save Money. My Mom always said you go through seasons of spending and then seasons of saving and I think that’s true. However I feel like I have been in a season of spending for way too long and definitely need to cut back! I can’t say that I will have “no spend” months but I definitely want to be more conscientious of how I spend my dollars and save more.
SIX. Travel to one new place. I would really love this to say “travel to six new places” but realistically if I can get to one new place this year I will be a happy girl. I love to travel and I hope this year provides me with many travel opportunities! I already have three trips planned but they are all to places I have been before (Memphis, North Carolina and Fayetteville) and that’s ok! One new place is all I need…maybe New Orleans? Chicago? Los Angeles? Hmmmmm…
SEVEN. Take life one day at a time. I don’t know about you but I am always planning. Planning my next trip, planning what to do on my next day off work, planning when I’m going to see my friends again…etc. I feel like I am living in the future and not in the day that I am in. This year I want to wake up each day and live it to its fullest. I also want to remember that each day is a fresh start.
EIGHT. Read 50 books. I love to read! I actually already read a lot but I’ve never counted how many books before. This year I want to track it and see how many I can do!! I listen to audiobooks in the morning when I get ready and on my commute to and from work and I read on my Kindle during my downtime at work and before bed each night. I am already about finished with one book this year so this should my easiest resolution to keep this year!
NINE. Have fun. I don’t know about you but some days I get so bogged down with life (work, pay bills, bathe the dog, clean the house…) that I forget to just have fun. Whether it’s a dance party in the kitchen or just singing at the top of my lungs in the car I just want to have fun this year.
TEN. Double my blog page views and blog related income. Surely you didn’t think I would leave out any blog related resolutions on my blog did you? I have a lot of fun opportunities coming this year for my blog and I can’t wait to see where they take me!
Did you make resolutions??
What is one thing you want to accomplish this year??

Writing them down is always the first step. Now go and make a game plan on how you are going to accomplish them.

I don’t make resolutions anymore. I always seem to fail at them. Instead, I try to make every day better than the day before.

These are great resolutions! I love the reading more books and doubling your page views. Of course you had to get something in there blog related! That’s part of who you are as a person! Good luck! I can’t want to hear how everything comes out at the end of the year!

I agree- I will do anything to avoid the word resolution! Resolution to me is something everyone does at the beginning of the year and quits after a month! Good luck with all of yours!

LOVE all of these. I can’t wait to start whole 30, visit IKEA with Jenn, and see where your blog takes you! 2017 is YOUR year!

Thanks for sharing your new year resolutions. I have a lot of similar goals for 2017. Last year had ups and downs for me. Looking forward to a fresh start.

I intend to make my blog the best it can be this year. Good luck with all your resolutions. It sounds like you have a pretty good list going on there.

I love these! I have a lot of the same goals/resolutions, except for reading 50 books. Unless you count kids’ books haha, because that’s all my 4 month old will let me read. :)
Polarbelle says
I eat like whole 30 except….I haven’t sugar busted. I’m eating MMs as I’m reading. If you find a key to sugar busting, let me know!

I don’t make New Year’s Resolutions anymore. I’ve tried so many times and totally fail. One of the things that I’m working on now is eating healthier. Good Luck!
Katie says
I would like to accomplish reading more, too! I read constantly but don’t go out to the library as much as I would like to. That has to change in 2017!

These all look like awesome goals. Good luck! I am not much for New Year’s resolutions, so I never make any, but I have goals I come up with all the time.
Bonnie @wemake7 says
Those are great resolutions, I have some of those goals as well. I’m working on my weight again this year.
