On our way back from Lubbock last week Rebekah and I flew into Dallas and then drove back to central Arkansas. We did this for a few reasons, number one was because it was way cheaper to fly through Dallas and number two was to eat and shop in Dallas before we came back to Arkansas! Genius idea on our part…
We flew into Dallas right around 10am on a Sunday so you know what that means…BRUNCH!! I am not a huge fan of traditional breakfast foods so I love me some brunch. Especially if it involves a yummy mimosa!!
After scouring social media we decided to hit up The Rustic’s Jam and Toast Brunch. We have been to The Rustic before and loved it so we were sure brunch would be epic, and we were so so so right! PS- I love being right!! HAHAHA!!
We got our brunch started with the Craft Mimosa Tray…
…which consisted of a carafe of fresh squeezed OJ, a carafe of champagne, and Brazos Valley marmalade and mixed berry preserves to mix in! I made mine with the berry preserves and it was amazing!!
Brunch at The Rustic is served “family style” so pretty much you just sit down, tell your waiter/waitress what you want to drink and tell them how many people are eating and then they just bring all the food out. You pick and choose what you want and you will be stuffed full if you choose to sample it all like me! LOL!
First up is a cheese and fruit plate. It local cheeses, fresh berries, a real honeycomb, and avocado toast! I have not been a fan of avocado toast in the past but this one was delicious!!
Next I tried the Hot Baked Eggs and Kale Salad. Can I just say that whatever dressing was on the Kale Salad isa imply amazing? It was seriously the best I had ever had!!
Then I moved on to the Baby Fried Toast which is pretty much just mini french toast with an amazing house-made rosemary syrup. It was perfection!!
After the sweet toast I had to go with the Smoked Cheddar Grits and Sausage Gravy. Holy moly this dish just melted in my mouth it was so damn good!!!
I am a huge fan of hot chicken and was pumped about the Nashville Style Hot Chicken and Fried Pickles. This tray also included some yummy sausage and bacon. This might have just been my favorite plate ever.
Last, but certainly not least was the S’Mores Donut!! These baby donuts were the perfect way to end the meal and you better bet I savored every last bite!!
So if you are ever in Dallas and looking for a yummy brunch spot I would definitely encourage you to try The Rustic’s Jam and Toast Brunch!! Did I also mention there was live music? And a fabulous patio area? Oh yes…The Rustic is definitely one of my favorite Dallas eateries!!
Are you a brunch fan??
Have you ever been to The Rustic??
Oh my gosh!! This looks amazing! I am always down for brunch especially if there are Mimosas involved!
That all looks so good! This is exactly the kind of brunch that will have me not eating ANYTHING for the rest of the day. Yummo!
That looks like an amazing brunch! Heck I would have gone for just the PB and J!! lol!! I love toast!!
Wow. We love good brunch! Sounds like this one is a must try for us!
Wow, that food looks so good. I will have to try this place if I’m ever in the area. Sounds so good!
I live in Fort Worth and haven’t heard of this restaurant. It looks so good. I will have to look it up and see where they are located. I am thinking a brunch date with my husband might be in order.
This food all looks so amazing. I want to try it all starting with the Hot Baked Eggs and Kale Salad.
Wow! That’s definitely my kind of brunch. Everything looks so good and filling. It’s enough to get you through the day!
