First of all Happy Columbus Day!!
“In Fourteen Hundred and Ninety Two,
Columbus sailed the ocean blue…”
I’ve never been a big celebrator of small holidays but that one line from that rhyme has been stuck in my head for dayssssss. HA!!
Anyway, today I thought I would just give you a little life update. I have posting so sporadically lately that I feel like I need to fill you in on some things!
First up last night my home internet went bonkers. It was up and then down and I had no TV or WIFI and so basically life sucked for a few days. I know that sounds so stupid and very silly but it was true. I was completely lost for a few days but on the plus side I got a lot of housework done! HA! I also went to the movies a few times. I saw Bridget Jones Baby and Pete’s Dragon. I read a couple books. It was actually a very nice, refreshing break. Now I just hope I don’t go over on my data for the month.
Last week I also went out of town for a few days. I went to Stuttgart and got to tour Riceland and got to attend the Taste of Home Cooking Show. It was amazing and you can expect a full post about my trip tomorrow!!
I am still recovering from my first Varicose Vein Surgery and I feel great!! I actually saw my surgeon the other day at work (perk of working at a hospital) and he said it sounds like I am recovering perfectly. I go back to see him in his office next week and then we will hopefully go ahead and schedule surgery for my right leg! My goal is to get it done before the end of the year!!
If you follow me on my social media you may have seen me asking for prayers for my sweet niece. She got bitten on the face (very badly) by a dog yesterday and had to be rushed to the hospital. She was very quickly transferred to a larger hospital with an amazing pediatric facility and had surgery last night. I am proud to say that she rocked that surgery and her first hospital stay last night and should be going home today. She will have a long recovery ahead of her but I am just thankful that it wasn’t worse!!
This weekend is also my Lubbock trip with Rebekah!! I am so freaking excited but also feel like I haven’t actually been at home in forever. After this mini trip hopefully I will get to just be home on my days off work!! Never thought I would say that…LOL!!
Anyway, I hope you have a fabulous Columbus Day Monday!!

Glad to hear you and your niece are on the road to recovery. I almost forgot about Columbus Day until my calendar and the lack of mail reminded me. I’m really in need of a vacation.

We have some times like that with our internet. It especially seems to happen late at night. When we are trying to stream something on Netflix or YouTube, that’s when it wants to act up.

I am so sorry to hear about your niece and it sounds so scary as well. I am glad she is back home and that everything is alright too. My brother goes through Varicose Vein issue as well and I hope you feel better after the surgery!

Around this time I hope everything has fully recovered! I heard that in some cases it isn’t easy agreeing to have those veins treated as such/with surgery. Anyways, let’s just simply hope we have internet all the time. :D
