I have said this before and I will say it again that one of my favorite parts of summer is sitting out on the back porch after work with a cold drink in hand and watching Sophie run through the back yard and making that Jolly Rancher Vodka a while ago has really upped my drink making game! HA!
Now while the idea of having a margarita sounds good in theory I don’t really like the taste of tequila so I usually skip them at restaurants in favor of a beer or another mixed drink. However at home I have learned to make a similar drink but with vodka and that I can definitely get down on!! YUM!!
I love anything cherry flavored so I knew my Cherry Jolly Rancher Vodka was the way to go. I also bumped up the cherry flavor by adding some cherry juice (straight from the jar of maraschino cherries, it’s delicious so don’t hate) and the lime came from the frozen limeade and because we all know Coronas taste better with lime. HA!!
For this recipe you can use any beer and any Vodka, flavored or not, but I just prefer Corona and a flavored vodka for mine. Cherry is my usual go-to hence the name, Cherry Beer-garitas! The frozen lime aid is a really good base and you can even add more real lime juice or even lime essential oil in order to up the lime flavor if that’s your thing.
My recipe for the drink is below but here is the gist…put a couple spoonfuls of frozen lime aid in a blender. Top with beer, a couple shots of cherry vodka, and a splash of cherry juice. Fill blender to the top with ice and blend it up!! SO GOOD!!!
I got a Ninja blender a couple months ago and this has also seriously upped my drink and smoothie game. It makes my drinks soooooo smooth, no random ice chunks, and I think they just taste better. I love the auto-IQ button because it actually blends as long as it needs to, no more and no less. This isn’t a sponsored post for Ninja, I just really love my blender!!
So if you are looking for a grew summer drink to have on the back porch, on the lake, or anytime then I think you should definitely try my Cherry Beer-garitas!!
Are you a margarita fan??
Have you made a beer-garita before??
