I officially had the best. weekend. ever. this past weekend!! Last Friday I worked a half day and then Rebekah and I loaded up and got on the road headed to Dallas!!! You know how sometimes you need a break and you just need to get out of town and not see people for a few days?? Yeah, that’s the mood I have been in lately and this weekend getaway came at the perfect time.
Excuse me if you have already seen these pics, I pulled most of them from Instagram and SnapChat. Yes, I decided to join SnapChat this past weekend also. It is seriously so. much. FUN!!!! If you are on there you can add me, username riccialexis83
We got to Dallas late Friday night and decided to stop at the Cheesecake Factory on our way to our hotel. We are total white girls who love a good piece of cheesecake and I can’t ever pass up a chance to eat my favorite Louisiana Chicken Pasta!! YUM!!
After dinner we checked into our hotel and I promptly passed out and the next morning woke up to this gorgeous view…
…sigh!!! We stayed at the Westin Stonebriar and this may just be my favorite hotel stay to date! Our room was HUGE and had two queen size beds. The bathroom was amazing and the customer service was on point. I will definitely be going back during the summer so I can swim in their gorgeous pool!!
Saturday morning we got up and headed to Drybar for blowouts!!
Our favorite Drybar in Dallas is the one in NorthPark Center. You can valet for free and shop after…sweet!!!!!
After our blowouts we headed out into the mall to shop!!! We went to Lush and stocked up on bath bombs, Sephora to grab a few essentials, and Nordstrom to do some serious damage!! I seriously wish Little Rock had a Nordstrom but since we are Dillard’s headquarters we don’t get anything cool like that. Ugh.
We had lunch at Kona in the mall and snacks at a macaron pop up shop! I fell in love with this Carmel Macaron!! YUM!!
I know you can’t see it vey well but I got this fun and flowy top from Maurices last week and I am in love with it!! It is the perfect mix of fun and feminine and super comfy for an al day shopping trip!!
After shopping until we literally dropped we headed back to our hotel for a quick nap! Y’all know I am all about a good nap when I can get one…HA….and that night night we went out on the town!! And by out on the town I mean a quick trip to Target and then off to Studio Movie Grill to see How to be Single!!
I wore these fabulous new Sam Edelman sandals I grabbed at Nordstrom earlier that day. They are so super comfy and I have always heard great things about them and wanted to try them for myself. I had to go up a half size but the salesman said that was normal.
I had never been to Studio Movie Grill before but I have always wanted to go and this seemed like the perfect time to do it. This was the second time I had seen How to be Single and it was just as good as the first!! If you haven’t seen that movie then I highly recommend it!!
The coolest thing about SMG is that there is a bar inside where you can get drink before your movie (or after) and then you just carry them inside with you and then you can order dinner and eat while you watch! I started the movie with a Spiked Cherry Limeade that was out of this world amazing and I need to figure out that recipe so I can make them on my own!!! YUM!!!
For my meal I got the mac & cheese with grilled chicken and sadly it didn’t have any cheese on it? I found a clump of shredded cheese at the bottom of the dish and I guess that was supposed to be it? It was weird and I definitely won’t be ordering that again!!
We got back to the hotel that night and decided to see what kind of damage we had done that day. In addition to my sandals I got from Nordstrom I also grabbed these items…
…my birthday gift from Sephora (fresh soy Face Cleanser and fresh Rose Face Mask), Anastasia Contour Kit, Drybar Triple Sec, Bite Agave Lip Mask, Mac Mineralizer Skinfinish, and two MAC brushes (the 224 Tapered Blending Brush and 168 Large Angled Contoured Brush). Funny story…when we were in Sephora I was drooling over the fresh Rose Face Mask but is it way too expensive for me and when I was checking out I got a sample of it as a birthday gift!! Yay me!!!
After digging through my loot I tried out this Rose Sephora Collection Eye Mask. I have seen people with these eye max and have been wanting to try them so I was super stoked to find them at Sephora!! They are $5 each and I got the Rose while Rebekah tried the Pearl. There are a bunch of other flavors as well and I will definitely be trying more!!
The next morning we slept in until 10am, trust me it was much needed, and then we headed out to IKEA!! Again, Arkansas has zero IKEAs and I found sooooo much cool stuff!!! I grabbed the clear Tobais chair for my office ( I totally copied Rebekah on this one) and it is seriously comfy and I also grabbed a few more things for in there and I can’t wait to actually be finished with that room so I can show you pics of it!!
After IKEA we made our way to Legacy Village and ate lunch at Mi Cocina. If you love tex-mex and are in the Dallas area you should definitely hit up a Mi Cocina!! YUM!!!
After lunch we headed home!! I love to travel and get out of town but I think that just makes coming home oh so sweet! I missed my Sophie girl and she missed me too!!! I love Dallas and will definitely be going back soon…hello IKEA!!! HA!!!
Have you been to Dallas recently??
Is there an IKEA near you??

I’m glad you had a blast. I live about an hour west of Dallas. Ikea is huge. The one time I went in there, out of all the stuff they have I walked out with a squeegee. Pathetic huh?
