Strawberry Whip Cake

This post contains affiliate links.

strawberry whip cake

While I was studying for finals I got the worst craving for Strawberry Whip Cake! I love sweet stuff but not when it’s super sweet, like most icing/frosting for cakes usually is. I’m weird like that.

So in the middle of all the craziness of studying, writing papers, and test taking, I whipped out my hot pink mixer and made myself a Strawberry Whip Cake!

pink mix

Strawberry Whip Cake is just a fancy name for a box cake mix that I poked a ton of holes in, poured thawed out strawberries and their juice all over the top…

strawberry

…and topped with an amazing homemade icing/frosting!

iceit

It’s seriously the easiest, quickest, prettiest, fruitiest, not to sweetest, desert I have ever made. I seriously love this cake. I like to top mine with fresh fruit but you can always just eat it plain. It’s good either way.

As much as I love making this cake, I love sharing it even more. When I make it, I will eat a piece or three and then take the rest to work and share the love with my co-workers. Nothing puts people in a better mood during a crappy day at work like Strawberry Whip Cake. YUM!!

Looks yummy!!! One of the first cakes that I learned how to bake was a strawberry cake that used a box of jello and a box of cake mix. I haven’t made it in years, but it was really yummy.

I think this is such an interesting twist on what could be strawberry shortcake. Not everyone likes scones or pound cake and want something lighter, but not a spongy as say, angel cake,. Draped with freshly sliced strawberries this looks to be just the thing. And you make it look so delicious. Thanks for sharing! ~s
