When I got home from last weekend’s bachelorette party I had the worst crick in my neck. I blamed it on sleeping on a crappy futon mattress or just staying up too late or drinking too much. Or maybe a mixture of all? Ugh.
It got worse and worse and the straw that broke the camel’s back was the headache that lasted for three solid days. That’s when I decided it was time to call in backup, I decided to go see a Chiropractor.
I found one that was by my house and came highly recommended from some of my co-workers. I got there early and filled out a ton of paperwork and took a bunch of x-rays. When I saw the doctor he asked when my accident was. Wait, WHAT??
He said that the x-ray of my neck showed an old Whiplash injury and that was why I was in so much pain. He also said that was why my back was hurting too, I had been out of align for so long it just hurt all the way down. Ouch!
I don’t even remember being in any kind of accident where I got hurt or got Whiplash?? He said it was years ago and I would probably remember later. I sure hope so because I am completely baffled.
My treatment plan is to get adjusted as many times as it takes to get my neck to curve back the way it’s supposed to. I got my first adjustment that day and I can honestly say that it was the single most scary and relieving thing of my life. He popped my neck both right and left and then uses this machine thing to work the kinks out of my neck. I don’t even really know how to describe it, LOL.
All I can say is that it worked. I could move my neck both right and left with minimal pain when I left the office!
I had my second adjustment Wednesday and it went even better than my first. I knew what to expect so I wasn’t as nervous. I also got to lay on a massage table for 10 minutes before I got adjusted and that was pure heaven. I want one of those tables in my house ASAP.
I go see my Chiropractor again next week and I can’t wait!!
Have you ever had Whiplash??
Have you ever been to a Chiropractor??

Ouch! That looks painful… I hope your Chiro is able to sort it out soon. I’ve fortunately never had the need for a Chiro, but some family members have and swear by them.

A Chiropractor did wonders for my husband’s back. He was able to avoid surgery because of it. So glad you are feeling much better.

I have never been to a Chiropractor and I need to go because this back isn’t good and I know it isn’t. Hmmm I know a friend got it from playing volleyball so maybe you did something else and it wasn’t an accident?

Oh wow! I hope you remember. It would be crazy to be told that and have absolutely no idea! I’ve never had whiplash nor been to the chrio but I do want to get there at some point!

I keep telling myself that I need to see a chiropractor because I have the worst pain in my neck almost all the time! Glad to hear what you have to say about visiting a chiropractor. I want to do this now.

Weird that you don’t know where the whiplash came from or that you had it. You must have a high pain tolerance. I went to a chiro when I was a kid because I was hit by a van that was going 60 mph when I was on my bike.

Eeek that must have been scary and painful. I am glad that it is working out for you and healing.

having neck pain is not good and so uncomfortable. I am glad that you are seeing the chiro

I’ve never had whiplash, I hope you will get well soon. I see that its not easy to have whiplash.

I went to a Chiro for a couple of years straight. But I didn’t really benefit from it at all. Sure he helped my neck turn a little more to the left (guess I’m not as “flexible” on that side) but in the end, I found it was a waste of time on money (for me!).
Aprill says
OUCH! I’ve never been to a chiropractor, but I truly wish you the best of luck!

Oh my – whiplash! Hope you can remember how you might have gotten it. Hopefully you’ll be feeling 100% soon.

Yeah I was seeing a chiropractor when I was working 12 hours per day in an office chair staring at a screen. Was getting the worst back pains. Though I saw a chiro for a while I decided that it was too expensive. I’ve since taken up Yoga and find this much more effective in managing the pain!

I had whiplash one time and it was from someone hitting my car from behind but my head was slightly turned. The day it happened I went to the chiropractor. I have deteriorating disc in my neck before this happened too. I was addicted to the chiropractor after the first time seeing him. Thanks for sharing.

Ouch that does look painful! I have been to a chiropractor before. My junior year of high school I sprained my back so bad I almost broke it, if wasn’t for Dr Murphy I wouldn’t be standing I was in so much pain! Hope u get better soon!

Never done either but that’s so weird that you do not know or even remember when you had whiplash, glad you’re on the mend mow

I’m glad you’re getting it fixed! I actually used to work for a chiropractor. :) I know a lot people don’t believe in it, but I’ve seen it work wonders for people.

That looks really painfully to me but going to a Chiropractor scares me the most.

I hope you are better now. It’s crazy cause the same thing happened to me. I started going to the chiropractor after he fixed my husbands back. I had never been before and when he showed me my xray it looked just like yours and he asked me when my accident was. I was totally baffled because I have never been in an accident…. I had no idea where my whiplash came from. I now go to the chiropractor 3x a week and it has definitely helped the soreness in my neck. It’s only been a couple weeks but I hope in the end it will help get the curve back to my spine.
