I know I have talked about my love to read a lot lately, or at least it feels like I have. I joined Goodreads a while ago but I never did much with it. I recently re-discovered it and I am obsessed but that may have to do with my OCD tendencies. I am convinced that Goodreads was made for people with OCD. Let me explain…
If you haven’t heard of Goodreads here’s what their website says: “Goodreads is the world’s largest site for readers and book recommendations. Our mission is to help people find and share books they love. Goodreads launched in January 2007.” Things you can do on Goodreads include “See which books your friends are reading. Track the books you’re reading, have read, and want to read. Check out your personalized book recommendations. Our recommendation engine analyzes 20 billion data points to give suggestions tailored to your literary tastes. Find out if a book is a good fit for you from our community’s reviews.”
So basically Goodreads is like a social network for book nerds like myself. I can go on and add every book I have ever read to the “read” section and rate them. If you can’t remember every book you have ever read you have the option to link up your Amazon account to GR and it will tell you every book you have ever bought including your Kindle books. I linked up my Amazon account and had over 200 books link up, I have had my account since 2005…LOL! I am OCD enough to love this option!! I LOVE lists!!
There is also a section to add what you are currently reading. I am usually always reading three different books. One on my Kindle that I can read on the go, a real book that I keep by my bed, and an audiobook to listen to in the car.
There is also a section for books you want to read. I think this may just be my favorite section ever. I love marking things off a list even more than I love making lists so I see this list as a competition. I love adding books to it just so I can mark them off. I know, I’m a little crazy but I’m ok with that.
You can also link up your Facebook account and see what books your friends are reading and get book recommendations from them. That’s another favorite thing I love about GR, the book recommendations! I have found soooo many new books to read on this website!!
If I haven’t scared you off with my OCD tendencies and book werido-ness you can be friends with me on Goodreads if you want!! Come make lists with me and read amazing books!! It will be so much fun!!
Do you love to read??
Are you on Goodreads??

I’ve been wanting to sign up for GoodReads for years now. My husband has an account and he likes it a lot too. However, I never took the time to sign up. I read a lot of non-fiction, but I’ve been wanting to find some good fiction books to read. So Goodreads would probably be perfect since they give you recommendations.

How are you on Goodreads and NOT my friend?

Goodreads is my life! (I mean, I run a book blog, so yea..) I try to keep 100ish books on my To Read list so that I never run out and always find something I wanted to read, no matter what mood I’m in. I also take a lot of recommendations from what my friends are reading, so that’s another awesome aspect.
Seriously, it cannot be stated enough how great GR is. Let’s connect!

I love GoodReads, and I am convinced (and fine with the fact) that my to-read list will never be at zero.

I’m addicted to GoodReads! I go to bookstores and scan all the best sellers into my “to read” list and then I can always remember what I want to read.

Oh I love Goodreads! It’s the best thing in the world because I can pull the app up on my phone when I’m at the bookstore or the library and instantly can find my “Want to Read” list and get a new book. Plus, I can check my “read” list and make sure I’ve already read a book – you would not be surprised how often that’s happened, lol. I used to keep slips of paper in my purse of authors and books.
