Earlier this week my friend Elizabeth and I took a little trip to Hot Springs to Garvan Woodland Gardens to see the Holiday Lights! Having lived in central Arkansas for the last 11 years you would think I had gone to see the lights before but this was actually my first time! I was super excited and they were simply gorgeous!!
I have been to Garvan Woodland Gardens several times, usually just to walk and see the gardens but I have also been to several weddings there as well. It’s such a peaceful place to go and see and not too far from where I live.
I have to admit that I was a little nervous going into it. How could we possibly see well at night? What if it was freezing cold and I was miserable the whole time? What if it was super crowded and we had to wait forever and couldn’t really see anything? Were there going to be drinks/snacks to buy? Priorities…LOL!
To answer a few of those questions for you…the lights are bright enough that you don’t feel like you don’t know where you are going and you can see where you are stepping (that was my main concern since I am so accident prone). The night we went was in the low 50’s, high 40’s so we didn’t freeze to death. We went during the week so there was no crowd…we drove straight in, parked and walked right in with no lines. I have heard the weekends are ridiculously busy with wait times 2-3 hours long just to get in and it is super crowded then so take that into consideration if you are planning a trip. And the concession stand was open all night and I can personally vouch for the yumminess of the Apple Cider.
Alright, let’s me quit rambling and show you some pics…
Fun fact- this piano played the Nutcracker Suite and I could have listened to it all night long. I am Nutcracker obsessed…
You know I had to get a Sant pic, right?? HA…
This part of the display gave me serious Frozen vibes…
This tree played super fun Christmas tunes and lit up and danced in tune to the music…
The water feature was absolutely stunning…
And this display gave me Harry Potter vibes…
And they saved the most gorgeous ornament light display for the last thing you saw when you were leaving the gardens…
And there you have it, my favorite photos from the Garvan Woodland Gardens Holiday Light 2019 display…I loved them all!!
If you want to go the lights will be up from now until December 31 every night from 4pm-9pm (except for Christmas Day). You can buy tickets online, which I highly recommend, and I also suggest going on a weekday because it won’t be nearly as crowded then.
One more thing…this is NOT a sponsored post. I paid for my ticket myself and I can promise you that Garvan Woodland Gardens has no idea who I am. HA!
Happy Holidays!!

We just saw some great christmas decorations in Dyker heights Brooklyn so I know how nice this must have been. It is so nice when the town gets into the Christmas spirit.

I absolutely love any Christmas display like this!! Reminds me of Fantasy in Lights in Georgia. There should be more of these all over the US to see all year long. They just make you happy.

What a beautiful light display! My favorite might be the Harry Potter vibe. We have a Lights On The Lake display near me, and we usually go to it every few years.
