If you are anything like I used to be the holidays were always my excuse to eat whatever I want, not workout and gain weight. I used to tell myself that this was ok because losing weight was always one of my New Year’s Resolutions plus it was the holidays and calories don’t count during the holidays. I also told myself that calories didn’t count on my birthday, when I was on vacation, on my days off from work, on weekends, etc. You can see where this is going right?
Needless to say I always had an excuse as to why I gained weight and I never did anything about it. Well my friends, the buck stops here. It is December, Christmas is two weeks away and I refuse to gain any weight between now and the end of the year. Why gain more I just have get off later? NOT WORTH IT.
This year, unlike any other year ever, I have a plan! I am going to stick to my Profile Plan (more on that tomorrow) and I am getting my butt in the gym so I can stay healthy during the holidays!
I have a Black Card membership to Planet Fitness and I am sad to say that I haven’t been utilizing it like I should. Yikes! In my defense, I would rather be outside working out…Sophie needs to be walked and I need cardio so our daily hour walk in the park was the most logical thing to do to kill two birds with one stone. However, the weather has gotten too cold and nasty and so back to the gym I go!

I always forget how much I like going to the gym until I actually get there. Weird, but true. The elliptical is my fave thing for cardio, it’s easy on the knees, and I love all of the different machines! I usually rotate out and do arms one day and legs the next and I always do abs and stretch!
You can check out this post to see the top five reasons I love working out at Planet Fitness but one reason I love them that I didn’t mention in that post is that they have so much equipment! I can’t tell you a time I have gone that a machine I wanted to use was in use so I had to wait. This works well with my non-patient self. HA!
My local club also just rearranged some things and I just realized they have rowing machines! I love the rowing machine, it gives a true full body workout and even though it’s intimidating as hell (at least for me) I try to get on and row for at least five minutes each time I’m at the gym. I know you’re thinking “at least five minutes…come on Ricci!” but that machine is HARD! And I found out the hard way that when you stop and take a break the timer stops too. HA!!!!
I don’t have a photo of the rowing machine because I’m always a sweaty mess when I finish there so these leg machine pics will have to suffice…
…I also took these pics on different days and that’s why my pants are different in the pics. I promise I didn’t have some kind of accident and needed to change. HA!
