A couple of weeks ago I found myself off work for a few days in the middle of the week and decided to take a little solo road trip. I have been wanting to go to Waco to visit Magnolia Market/Chip and Jojo land but it seems like every time I’m down that way and have the time to go it’s on a Sunday and they are closed. Boo! So on a random Thursday morning in October I hopped in my car and road tripped it to Waco Texas!
I had never been to Waco before and I didn’t realize how big the town is! There are so many cute shops and places to eat but I was on a mission to visit Magnolia so I didn’t stop anywhere else.
I think I planned my trip at the perfect time of the year. It wasn’t hot at all and it rained off and on that day so there weren’t as many people as there normally are! I got to park right next to the Magnolia Market building for free and the lines weren’t long at all!
Now I didn’t research this trip like I normally would because it was super last minute but I had a blast anyway! I saw the big silos, went inside the market, grabbed lunch at a local food truck and just wandered around. I love the aesthetic and everyone that worked there was so nice!
So without further ado, here are my photos from my trip to Waco!
I think I loved the outdoor play area the best. All that green space plus the black and white stripes?? I swoon!
Plus there were pumpkins everywhere! Y’all know how much I LOVE pumpkins!!
The market itself was kind of overwhelming! It was HUGE and there were so many people inside. I wanted to grab a coffee cup to commemorate my visit (plus coffee cups are my thing) but they were kind of expensive so I didn’t! Sorry Chip and Jojo!
While I was there I grabbed lunch at a local food truck, The Dog House. I LOVE a good chili dog and the Demo Day Dog was everything I thought it would be and more. YUM!!
And my last stop of the day was the Silos Baking Co. The line wrapped around the building but it only took a few minutes to get through it and inside. I grabbed two cupcakes and a cookies to go. Everything was AMAZING and worth every single calorie!! LOL!!
And that, friends was my trip to Waco. I left there and drove to Dallas to stay the night and the next day I had a day of pampering and then hit up the Arboretum to see the pumpkin display. Overall it was a fantastic spontaneous road trip and one I would definitely do again!
Have you ever been to Waco??

We have friends in Waco and make it a point to visit Silos Bakery every time we’re in the area. It’s gotten a lot more crowded since Chip & Joana’s show skyrocketed but worth a visit

I love tours like this!! It’s just so fascinating to see what goes into making different food products! And then at the end, you get to buy some if you want :)

Being up here in the north we have our own pumpkin patches but that dog sounds like it was worth the trip. I need to get down to Texas and see the towns.

I always hear about this. It’s not my taste in style, but I do like those baked goods. I would want to try those out for sure!

Oh my gosh, I love Fixer Upper! I just love this couple and the empire they’ve created. I hope it never goes to their heads. They seem like such down to earth people. I’d hate that to happen to them. I love Magnolia stuff, too but I agree a bit pricey.
