Must Have Lip Masks

This post contains affiliate links.

All my life I have had big lips. I get asked all the time if they are fake/if I have had fillers and the answer is nope! That being said if you have lip fillers (or any fillers) or want them I say do it!! YOLO!!

They are the real deal and trust me when I say that having big lips is not all it’s cracked up to be. Literally. I got made fun of a LOT for my big lips when I was a kid and just within the past couple of years started wearing lipstick. I didn’t want to bring any more attention to myself than was necessary but I finally took the advice of my Neenee (grandmother) who always said “if you got it, flaunt it” and so now I wear whatever I want on my lips.

Now while wearing a bold lip or just lipgloss or whatever else you want on your lips is fun taking care of those lips is another story. Maybe it’s the changing of the seasons or just all that summer heat but my lips have been so rough lately!! So much so that I  have been wearing lip masks pretty much every night when I sleep and have been wearing more treatments than fun colors lately but that did inspire today’s post…my must have lip masks!!

Now some of you have your ride or die lip masks and some of you may have never tried one and that’s ok!! Today I am going to share two of my fave lip masks and one really good lip treatment to get you through this weird dry lip season so your lips will be ready for all of those beautiful bold fall lip colors!!

So let’s get to it!!

First up I am loving this new Buttermask for Lips from Kiehl’s! I have loved Kiehl’s products for years but have never tried any of their lip products until recently. This intensive repair overnight mask was an impulse buy from Sephora (oops!!) but it is so good!! I like to use it before bed (obviously) and right after I exfoliate my lips really good. I have a toothbrush specifically for this purpose and right after I brush my teeth I get that toothbrush out, wet it and scrub my lips with it very gently, you don’t want to be too rough!! Then I pat them dry and later on my Buttermask and I am set! I like that it’s not super heavy feeling yet it still feels like it’s going to do a good job, and it does! My lips are always super soft in the mornings when I wake up! Love it!

A while ago the amazing people at Rodan and Fields sent me a bunch of products to try and this Lip Renewing Serum was one of those products. I am sad that I didn’t use it much at first but now I use it every other night! I rotate between this and the Buttermask I just talked about a second ago. This lip serum is a conditioning lip serum that helps reduce the appearance of fine lines as well as visibly smoothing your lip’s texture. I love how silky and smooth it is and it also makes my lips so soft to the touch!!

Lastly I am sharing with you one of my favorite lip treatments, C.O. Bigelow’s Lavender Salve. Now this is a salve that you can use on your skin, hair, lips, really anywhere but I especially love to use it on my lips while I am getting ready for the day. It is super soothing and a little bit goes a long way! It absorbs really well and by the time I am ready for lipstick my lips are hydrated and ready to go! I am also obsessed with their Rose Salve and keep it in my car, bags and at work. It’s good stuff too!!

So there you have it, my must have lip masks and a fabulous lip treatment!! If you have big lips then you know the struggle of keeping these bad boys hydrated and looking good so I highly suggest these products if your lips need a little pick-me-up!!

Do you have a favorite lip mask or lip treatment??

I know exactly how you feel, I’ve got big ‘ol lips too!!!! This summer we went to Mexico & my bottom lip got SOOOO burnt it was super swollen!!!! It was CRAZY!!! I had never seen anything like it before. My friend said “Good thing you have big lips cuz it doesn’t look funny” HAHAHAHA!!!! My daughter inherited the big lips. It was nice during dance competition season cuz the lipstick just went right on; other moms struggle cuz their daughter’s lips are so little & thin. I guess big lips DO have a positive side ;)

Oh my gosh I did not even know there was such a thing but I definitely could use it. I was outside all weekend and my lips are very chapped and dried because of being in the sun. I do not have big lips, but I do have a couple of friends that do LOL.

Thanks for sharing which products you use. Not sure why I’ve never thought to use a lip mask before. I have to look into adding one to my beauty routine.

These are some great suggestions. The only one I have is the CO Bigelow one in Rose (I think that’s the name of it). It gives the lips a subtle tint and it has a great scent.

I think your lips are gorgeous! I have thin lips and I wish they were a bit more plump. I do take good care of mine, though, because they easily crack.

Same problem. Especially difficult during the drier season. And I can’t stand chaps so I tend to pull them out! Really important to have a good lip scrub and mask

I get really chapped lips in the winter. I have never heard of lip masks. I would not say I have big lips but I always have had fever blisters and other dryness issues.

These are great! Every fall I think about doing a lip mask but never get around to it. I love wearing color on my lips and taking care of them is so important. Thanks for the tips.

Looks like something I would need once the weather starts to get really chilly. The Lavender Salve is the first one I’d love to try.
