Friday Five No. 61

This post contains affiliate links.

Happy Friday!! This has been the longest week ever and I don’t even know why!! Maybe it’s that whole post-vacation hangover thing and just trying to get back into the swing of things?? Or maybe it’s making a pretty big lifestyle change during my post-vacation hangover?? HA!! Anyway, I am so glad to be off work this weekend!!

Since it’s Friday that means it’s time for the Friday Five!! If you’re a regular here then you know the drill but if you’re new I’ll explain. I like to reserve Fridays on the blog for the Friday Five. The Friday Five is just a list of five (usually) random things that I feel like need to be on the blog. Sometimes these are products I just discovered and are obsessed with, usually whatever show or book I am into at the moment and sometimes even a teaser for a future post. Either way it’s a fun post to write and one that you seem to like to read. So without further ado, let’s get to this week’s Friday Five!

ONE. The Pumpkin Spice Latte came back this week and I’m not sure how I feel about that. Now I am one of the biggest pumpkin lovers out there but y’all. It’s just too dang hot for a Pumpkin Spice Latte. It is 95*+ with 100% humidity here in Arkansas and I just can’t get down with a PSL right now. Let it get down to at least 80* or something…LOL!! Now this doesn’t mean I am anti fall, I LOVE fall and have a lot of my pumpkin decor and candles and home scents out in my house right now and have zero shame. HA! So while I may not be sipping on a PSL I will be smelling and dreaming of fall, at least when I’m at home!

TWO. I don’t know why but I am just now watching Shameless. How did that happen?? This show is so raunchy and gross and hilarious!! I am addicted!! Good thing there are eight seasons out on Netflix right now!!

THREE. I started a new diet this past week. Actually I loathe the word diet so let’s go with lifestyle change. Also, full disclosure, I am working with the amazing people of Profile by Stanford and will have a full blog post about it next week but you should know that for now it’s going really well. It’s a commitment, especially the first two weeks but I have decided that I can do anything I put my mind to and I can do this. I can’t wait to share more with you!!

FOUR. I was in the middle of reading the Crazy Rich Asians books when I got am email from my local library that a book I had on hold was finally available. That book is Jodi Picoult’s Small Great Things. I really didn’t even know what it was about when I put it on hold but I have always loved her books and hadn’t read that one yet so I checked it out. I started reading it the other night when I was off work and y’all. It is so damn good. It covers race, privilege, prejudice, justice, compassion and so much more. Y’all. If you only read one book this year I ask that this be it. You won’t regret it one bit.

FIVE. I was at Target the other day looking for a good flexible hold hairspray and stumbled across this Beach Wave Spray from Kristin Ess. Now while it is not a flexible hold hairspray it works for what I wanted it for and it smells amazing!! I use a flexible hold hairspray when I am curling my hair, I want just a little hold so that it will eventually fall out into beauty waves so hello beauty wave spray! It has the perfect amount of hold and the whole Kristin Ess line is at Target. WIN/WIN!!

And that is all I have for this week’s Friday Five. I hope you have a fabulous Friday!!!

Do you have anything fun planned for this weekend??

Such a nice read from this post. That pumpkin spice latte sounds really intriguing and Shameless looks like a nice series to watch.

Ooohhhh…I’m going to have to be on the lookout for that beach wave spray. I can’t stand a heavy spray, so this would be perfect

It’s cooled down in Southern California to less than 90 degrees. That means I’m totally taking a Pumpkin Spice Latte home as often as possible. Since it’s still pretty hot, iced may have to happen too.

My daughter was watching Shameless. I don’t think I could watch it, especially on a big tv since I have a 7-year-old.

My kids started school this week and I have mixed emotions. I was enjoying summer and now it is back into the school routine. To me the week flew by so quickly.

It is 95+ here in Houston and I love PSL but it’s just too hot for all that. I have never watched Shameless but it looks interesting! I have heard several good things about Kristin Ess hair products but have yet to try them! I may have to check out that hair spray!
