I have noticed a lot of new readers around here lately so I thought I would take a day to tell you all about the girl behind the blog. I used to do these types of posts once or twice a year but I just looked back and haven’t done one since 2016…FAIL!! My bad…if you are new then welcome! If you aren’t then maybe you will learn something new about me? Lets go!
ONE. My first name is Ricci and is pronounced like Ricky. I used to HATE my name because I always got teased about it when I was a kid but since I’ve grown older I love it. I think it suits me!
TWO. I just sold my first house!! I remember when I started this blog one of my goals was to become a homeowner. Well friends in the almost 8 years that I have been blogging I have built a home, lived there for 7 years and am now selling to be a renter again! I have gotten a lot of questions about WHY I am selling and the truth is I want to be mobile. I miss the feeling of being able to pickup and move anywhere at anytime. Now does this mean that I am going to make a big, drastic move in the near future? No. But I have the ability to do so now if I wanted to!
THREE. My favorite color is pink.
FOUR. I love to travel and have a goal to see all 50 states (and territories). I have been to most of the east coast but now I think it’s time to start conquering the west coast. Cali trip anyone??
FIVE. I am obsessed with skincare. I spend way more time on my skincare than I do on my makeup and I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I always say that you need to take care of your skin first because you only get one shot at that. Plus makeup can only cover up so much, if you know what I mean.
SIX. I am also hair product obsessed. I used really bad hair when I was a teenager in high school and so I attribute my hair obsession to that. I never want to be that awkward frizz ball of a girl who got made fun of for having “devil horns” (baby hair flyaways) and a lion’s mane (it still looks like a lion’s mane if I let it go natural, LOL!). My favorite hair product brand is Drybar. I think I own at least one of everything they make plus I swear by their curling wand and flat iron. The next purchase on my list? Buttercup the hairdryer!!!
SEVEN. I come from a huge family and currently have six nieces and two nephews that range in ages 18 years to 10 months old. I LOVE to spoil my babies!!
EIGHT. I am 35 years old and am still single…I’m talking never been married, no long term relationship, nothing. A lot of people would feel sorry for me for that but here’s a confession for you – I love it! This may sound selfish but I like not having to worry about anyone but myself. Now there are certain times…holidays, wedding season, when I’m in a car wreck…that being in a relationship would be nice but I would say that about 99.9% of the time I am happy with my life the way it is!!
NINE. I am the Queen of Procrastination. Nothing motivates me more than knowing I have something (blog post, work stuff) due in a matter of hours…LOL!!
TEN. I work full time as a Respiratory Therapist in a super busy Neonatal ICU. I work the night shift and I absolutely love it! Would I ever quit my full time job to blog full time? I don’t think so. I love having the security of a paycheck coming every two weeks and I love that good ole hospital insurance. Plus I love my job and working with those teeny tiny babies!!
ELEVEN. I love to cook. I go in spurts with this and sometimes I meal prep, shop and cook for weeks at a time. And then there are the weeks that I eat out for eery meal. I am currently in an “eating out for every meal” phase but I blame that on showing my house, I didn’t want it to smell like food, HA! Now I need to get back in a cooking phase.
TWELVE. I am an Apple girl to my core!! I have an iPhone X, a MacBook Pro and a Mac Book Air. Excessive? Yes. Am I mad about it? No. I love my Apple products and how information is so easily accessed between all of my devices.
THIRTEEN. I am a HUGE movie buff. I love going to the movies, especially since I switched back to night shift, there is nothing better than going to see a late movie all by myself! I have a MoviePass and with that app I can go see one movie a day for $10 a month. I saw three movies this past weekend…Oceans 8, Adrift and Tag…and didn’t pay for any of them. It’s a fantastic app and if you love going to the movies you should get it!! No, I’m NOT getting paid to say that or promote the app, I just really love it!!
FOURTEEN. My favorite candy is Peanut Butter M&M’s. YUM!!
FIFTEEN. I drive a GMC Terrain and I love it so much that when I traded it last year I got another one. What can I say it’s a good SUV!!
So there you have it, fifteen random facts about me, the girl behind the blog. Hope you learned something new about me!!
What is one random fact about yourself??

I thought Ricci is pronounced as “Richie.” Most people also mispronounce my name. It’s Roch (Rosh). So far, how many states have you visited?

Hi Ricci! Great to learn about you! I should do one of these posts soon! I learned a lot! I am also single at 50 only I was married once for a whopping 6 months! Biggest mistake of my life…be glad you skipped that one! The only thing I miss is I never had kids since I also have a million nieces and nephews – but, I believe there is a reason for everything and it was not in the cards for me. I could always adopt anyway :-)
Happy Tuesday!!! Great to get to know you better!

I learned a lot about you today from this very interesting. I never knew you worked in the medical field and I have always loved your skincare ideas.

It was wonderful to learn about you. Being in a relationship is not all that it cracks up to be ( depending on the person ) I was always the single one, and there is just so much you just can’t do when you’re married with children. Enjoy the single life until the next chapter of your life begins. Also, I’m an Apple girl as well. The only thing I don’t own is the watch. ( I want one though )

I think you are the best person for your job. I am confident that parents trust you with their little ones when you are around them. Congrats on selling the house, that was quick! Good thing about not a homeowner is that, you don’t have to worry about the maintenance, tax and all that stuff.

This was my first time learning about Moviepass. Need to check it out! Also, Alaska should be on your bucket list: the great outdoor + midnight sun in the summer and the jawdropping Northern lights/aurora in the winter.
