MoviePass App OBSESSED

This post contains affiliate links.

Happy Wednesday!! I don’t know about where each of you live but it is finally COLD in Arkansas!! It’s been consistently cool for a while now but I finally had to turn on the heat in my house yesterday and I was a little bit excited about that…HA!

MoviePass App

So last night I was off work and met a fellow blogger and friend for dinner and some blog talk and wouldn’t you know that I failed to get one single picture. Such is life…but I did enjoy getting out, dressing in real clothes, eating a yummy dinner at Chuy’s and talking shop. So thank you Amy for meeting me!!

After dinner I headed to the Apple Store to check on The Beast and it still wasn’t ready to be picked up…BOOOO. (More on the whole situation later, I promise.) So I decided to go all out and treat myself to a movie.

Y’all. I used to be a movie going fool. I went to the movies all the time!! It has always been one of my favorite things to do, especially by myself (check out my Solo Movie Rules post!), but I haven’t been since I saw the movie IT with my friend Madison and I can’t even tell you what I saw before that….Wonder Woman I think?? Anyway, it’s been a while. One reason I haven’t been as much is because of movie prices. Have you seen how much a ticket to the movies is lately? It’s easily $10+ and the when you add on a drink and popcorn it’s ridiculous!!

I was talking about how crazy movie prices are with my friend Madison and she told me about the MoviePass app. It honestly sounds too good to be true so of course I had to try it for myself and then report back to you guys. So if you haven’t heard about the MoviePass app it’s an app you download to your phone that is basically like Netflix for movies. It’s $10 a month and you sign up via the app and wait for your card to come in the mail. Mine took about a month and when I got it all I had to do to activate it was go stand 100 feet from a theater and follow the instructions to activate via the app.

Once my card was activated I went to a list of participating theaters in my area (pretty much all of them) picked a movie (and time) and told it that was what I wanted to see and it told me I was ready to purchase my ticket. So feeling all nervous and whatnot I went to the ticket window and told the cashier the movie and time, swiped my card like a normal debit or credit card and that was that. I was IN!!!

The only “rules” to the card are that you have to use it at a participating theater and you can only see one movie a day. And it’s so super easy to use!! You literally just tell it what you want to see, it loads the money on the card and you use it like a normal card! It doesn’t get much better than that friends!!

Last night I saw Happy Death Day and it was pretty good! I was only out the money for my popcorn and drink which was on a special so I only spent $10!! I can see myself watching a lot of movies in the theater with this bad boy!! If you see two movies a month then this would be totally worth the cost, in my opinion!

So if you like going to the movies as much as I do then I highly encourage you to download the app and get your card today!! By the way, this post is NOT SPONSORED in any way, form to fashion I just LOVE this service and thought you might too!!

Happy movie watching!!

Have you heard of MoviePass??
Do you like watching movies in the theater??

MoviePass is the best invention in the history of entertainment! We use it all the time, and we love it! It makes going to the movies so much more enjoyable.

I never really go to the movies anymore, only if they’re free honestly – ha! I just think $15-20 for a movie ticket is a tad excessive, but meh… Sometimes, SOMETIMES it’s worth it!

PS: it has been 100 + degrees in Los Angeles for the past few days and I am so insanely OVER IT!

Here in the DC area, it is finally cold as well. I don’t mind it is almost November. I love a movie but hate the price tag that comes with it. We love the movies.

We have thought about doing this for my family of 3 because we don’t normally see movies because it is so expensive.

When this came out I thought it was a scam because it was so hard to believe you could get that kind of deal. I have to look into this now that I know it is legit!

Totally need this in my life. We went to the movies for my brother’s birthday the last month and I spent at least $40 to see IT.

I remember my husband telling me about this card a while ago and I was so skeptical, but I am so glad to know that it’s the real deal. It seems too good to be true but I’m going to order one now that I know it worked perfectly for you! Also, thought of you!! They’re opening a new Chuy’s by my house, LOL!
