Cheers to the freaking weekend!! How is it already Mother’s Day weekend y’all?? Also- I feel like everyone was wishing their moms Happy Mother’s Day on Facebook all day yesterday and I got super confused and thought I had my days all wrong. Nope! I guess all my friends were just celebrating early??
If you are one of my regular readers then you know I usually save Fridays for my Friday Five, a list of five (usually) random things that I feel need to make it on the blog. Very rarely do these posts have a theme but today’s post is not your norm. This post is for all the procrastinators out there. For anyone who hasn’t purchased their Mom a gift yet or just somehow forgot about Mother’s Day. Oops! Today’s Friday Five is all about last minute gifts for your Mom that are actually thoughtful and look like you put some real time and effort into it, because Moms care about that stuff!
I don’t mention it much on here but my Mom passed away from cancer the summer after I graduated from high school. Mother’s Day was one of her favorite holidays and I still remember what I got her for her final Mother’s Day and even what dress she wore to church that day. I usually try and just forget about the whole day but I think this year I will try and celebrate for her this year. Love you Mom!
So let’s get to these last minute gifts!!
ONE. Flowers. I know, flowers are a pretty cliche gift but if you can, drop a little more money on them than you usually would to show your Mom just how much you really care. Or if you can’t buy flowers pick her some! Moms really love that!!
TWO. Brunch. Take your Mom out to eat for Mother’s Day, or plan to take her somewhere at another time. Sometimes all a Mom wants is to spend time with you one on one and really talk to you, not just make small talk.
THREE. Spa Day. The women in my family rarely spend money on themselves. So when I treat my stepmom or my grandmothers I like to get them gift certificates for mani/pedis or massages. That way they can go when they want to and it’s something they wouldn’t normally get for themselves.
FOUR. Skincare. Like I mentioned above, the women in my family don’t spend money on themselves. Being the skincare junkie that I am I love to treat them to products I know they would love (and that I trust) that I know they wouldn’t buy for themselves. I have mentioned on here that I am a huge IT Cosmetics fan. They recently sent me their Confidence in a Cream Moisturizing Super Cream and Confidence in an Eye Cream and I just happen to know some ladies in my family that would love these!!
FIVE. Tickets. Do you know what your Mom’s favorite band is? Or know a show she has been dying to see? Treat her to tickets (and get one for yourself too) and you can enjoy a bonding moment and create fun memories with your Mom!!
That’s all I have for last minute Mother’s Day gifts! I think it’s a pretty nice list and hopefully, if you haven’t already, you can get some inspiration on what to get your Mom, or another special woman in your life, for Mother’s Day!!
Happy (almost) Mother’s Day!!

Yeah, even though I am a mom and even wrote a post about Mother’s Day gifts, it completely slipped my mind to get my mother-in-law and step-mother gifts this year. I think we will definitely be giving flowers. Great post.

I love these ideas. I went with chocolate for my Mom. Plus a gift card. I asked my kids to give me silence.

These are all great ideas if you want to catch up quick and get a Mother’s Day gift. Come to think of it Mothers never expect anything. But one needs to understand them and gift them what we think they would like.
