Happy Friday the 13th!! Since it is Friday and it’s specifically Friday the 13th in October I thought I would put a twist on my usual random Friday Five post and tell you all about my top 5 favorite Halloween movies!! Before we go any further I have to say that I did grow up in the greatest time for “kids” movies ever, the 90’s, and so all of my favorite Halloween movies are kids movies and not scary at all! HA!! Don’t judge me, I’m sure most of you have seen these movies too!
Here we go…
ONE. Hocus Pocus. You can’t get through the month of October without seeing Hocus Pocus at least once. If you do then don’t tell me. I have always loved this movie and a couple of summers ago when I traveled to Salem we got to see a lot of the site the movie was filmed at. Even back then they were talking about a sequel and I really hope that happens!!
TWO. Casper. When I was about 12 I had the biggest crush ever on Devon Sawa. I watched all of his movies…Little Giants, Now and Then (still one of my favorite movies of all time) and of course…Casper!! I also loved Christina Ricci because her last name is my first name. HA! I love this movie soooo much and have it on my DVR so I can watch it any time I want.
THREE. Halloweentown. I had a little brother and sister and so we watched a lot of the Disney Channel grown up. Even those movies were a little cheesy I still loved them and Halloweentown was one of my favorites! I saw it (and the second one) again a few years ago and remembered how much I loved them!
FOUR. Double Double Toil and Trouble. I don’t know about you but growing up I watched all of the Mary Kate and Ashley movies. I blamed that on my little sister but really I loved them just as much as she did. I think this was one of the first ones, before they started traveling the world making movies, and still one of my favorites to this day.
FIVE. Harry Potter Series. And last, but certainly not least is the entire Harry Potter series. I loved these books and I may love the movies even more. I also really need to plan a trip to Universal to see the Harry Potter land…I am a HUGE HP fan if you couldn’t tell. HA! I know the movies arena;t specifically for Halloween but now is as good a time to watch them as any!! But let’s be real, any time is a good time!!
And those, friends, are my absolute most favorite Halloween movies of all time!!!
Do you have certain movies you watch at Halloween??

I’m not a big scary movie fan, so I was delighted you picked these! Hocus Pocus is probably my favorite. I’m a huge Bette Midler fan!

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is one of my faves. I’ve been watching it ALL of my life and being able to watch with my kids makes my heart smile. We binged on Harry Potter movies earlier this month and I agree they’re a great addition to the list.

I love Casper as well and I’ve seen it a thousand times. I would love to watch it again. I hope it’s going to be available either on Cable or Netflix this Halloween.

I remember seeing Casper when I was little. The other movies not so much.
We like Hotel Transylvania 2 and if you ask my youngest he would say Curious George Halloween. Those two movies were on repeat two years ago.

There’s nothing like having a movie marathon for this season! I love that there are not so scary ones for nights when you don’t feel like watching anything creepy!
