It’s Friday and you know what that means…it’s time for the FRIDAY FIVE!!! If you are new to these parts then you should know that I reserve Fridays to talk about five random things and today’s five is no exception. Completely random but completely blog worthy. Let’s get to it!
ONE. I am going to the beach next week and I am sooooo excited!!! I haven’t been on a true beach vacation in a couple years…2012 I think?? So this trip is long overdue!!! And I guess technically it’s not a “beach vacation” it’s a “family vacation to see my oldest niece graduate from high school”. Luckily for me my oldest brother and his family live in North Carolina so everyone that is going rented a big beach house for a week and I can’t wait!! Some people are flying but my sister and niece are driving with me. Or I guess I should say my sister and I are driving and my niece will be binging Barbie on Netflix. HA!
TWO. I have been obsessed with reading Money Diaries on Refinery29. Basically it’s just a 7-day diary submitted by millennials from around the country and it’s about what they spend their money on every day. It also includes what city a person is from, how much money they make, what bills they have, etc. It is super interesting to see how people spend their money. See also- I am super nosey!!!
THREE. In my “going to the beach” prep I purchased a couple swimsuits from Swimsuits for All and actually would up LOVING both of them. I recently decided that I prefer the bandeau look over my traditional halter swimsuits and these two suits are seriously amazing. the prices were on point, shipping was super fast and they carry all swimsuit sizes from XS-plus sizes!! I think the rainbow colored stripe suit is my favorite, even though the plus size suit came with two GIANT shoulder straps instead of the smell bandeau strap that is shown in the photo. WHY??? Ughhhhh. But I also have some serious love for this black fringe suit, it sucks you in at all the right places if you know what I mean!! These will definitely be making their appearance at the beach next week and my pool all summer!!!
FOUR. I am getting my house ready to be put on the market and I am actually having fun decluttering and getting everything cleaned out. It’s kind of sad thinking about selling the first house I ever bought but I’m also excited about not having all that”homeowner” responsibility hanging over my head all the time. Ugh.
FIVE. I was feeling kind of creative the other night so I whipped out this wreath. I have had that red white and blue mesh sitting in my “craft drawer” for a couple of years (and I always have a few wreath forms laying around from back in my wreath making days) and decided to finally do something with it. I actually made a terrible tutorial on how to make a curly mesh wreath a few years ago that you can check out it you want to make one of your own.
And that, my friends, is my Friday Five!!
What are you up to on this fabulous Friday??
Those suits are great! My Friday will consist of working all day but being rewarded by family movie night later.
Omg I’m obsessed with Money Diaries, too. It’s crazy how much stuff costs in other parts of the country!
I know!!!
It’s always so exciting to go on vacation especially when it’s the beach. I am loving your swimsuit choices.
You just reminded me I should buy a new suit this year! I love your choices. Now you’re ready for summer and swim time! I can’t wait! : )
That rainbow suit is so fun. Disappointing it didn’t arrive as anticipated.
Me too!!
I love your update on Friday 5. I think that is a great idea. This Friday I am making cards with some friends for hospitalized kids it should be a fun night.
I like the black swimsuit! My family loves the beach and it’s what we look forward to every summer. I hope you have a wonderful time.
Oh the swimsuit are so lovely! My family and i loves going on a beach especially to the beaches that we never been. It was always fun.
Good for you! I had to work all day and then I got sick on Friday.
Oh, no! I’m sorry you got so sick!!
I am loving the multi-colored swimsuit. It looks super flattering. I am bookmarking them for my daughter.
It’s even more flattering on, if that’s even possible!! I am actually looking forward to wearing a swimsuit this summer, HA!!
Those bathing suits are super cute! Oh and I love the festive wreath! What cute ideas!
Thank you!!
We’ve been talking about a renting a North Carolina beach house for the extended family to get together on a big vacation for years. Unfortunately we can never get everyone on the same page to make it happen. Hope you have an incredible time on your trip!
I love that wreath – so pretty! I’m not into DIY, but I will check your tutorial and see if it’s easy for me to follow. :)
Wow, The Money Diaries sounds amazing! I completely need to check that out. Those swimsuits are awesome. I think I like the black one the most.
Your plans from Friday onwards sound so exciting! I wish I could say I am planning a beach vacay. We did go last year to a small place around here with a river beach for a day but I’ll say it doesn’t count. I need a good lounging week to make it count! I am intrigued with this budget for a week link, I will check it out – I am also nosy! :)
Good luck on selling your place. We did this earlier this year. It is nice not having to deal with the what ifs that break or need fixing. Selling a house isnt easy. There was so much prep work to do.
What an awesome post going to a vacation was really exciting for me I love to vacation and I love that black bathing suit.
Im happy for you mini vacay you deserve it since you said its well overdue! Also didnt know about Refinery29 Money Diaries I am intrigued now I will be reading now!
Good luck selling your place! That can be a little daunting but I am sure everything will go well. I am glad you got to go on a mini vacation! I am sure you deserved one and I hope it served you well.
