Road Tripping with McDonald’s

This post contains affiliate links.

I am a brand ambassador for Central Arkansas McDonalds. While I am being compensated for this post all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Road trips. I think you either love them or you hate them. Me? I love them! There is absolutely nothing better than hopping in the car and driving to your vacation destination. I love the open roads, seeing the sights along the way and just the feeling of freedom!! The only thing I may love better than a good road trip is all the yummy food you get to try along the way!

Every time I take a road trip I always vow to not eat at chain restaurants and not to eat from anywhere we have back home. I think that makes it interesting and really forces me out of my box and makes me try new things. Because let’s face it, I am that person who could eat the same thing at the same place for weeks at a time and never get tired of it. I am a creature of habit.

So while I am all for trying new things in new places I am also all about comfort food and sometimes when you are on the road it’s good to see those familiar golden arches and know for certain that what you are about to eat is good food.

In fact, the last time I was in New York City after a whole day of trying new things and seeing the sights it was very comforting to see those blindingly bright golden arches in Times Square. You better bet I waited in that super long line to get a Double Cheeseburger and a small fry.  Apparently those are my comfort foods. HA!

Last week my Sophie girl and I road tripped it to Ohio, by way of Nashville for a night, to see my grandparents. Of course we had to stop and grab a Carmel Frappe for the road to start our trip off right…

Fun fact- I remember when the frappes came out a few years ago…I had wanted to try them and was with my Neenee (grandmother) one day and she insisted we drive by McDonald’s and try the new “frappys”. Yep, that’s what she called them, frappy’s. Needless to say I have been hooked ever since and every time I go see her that’s one of the things we have to do, go get a frappy. So I fully blame my Neenee for my frappe addiction and I am proud to say that I have passed that off to several of my friends as well. HA!

So whether you are traveling somewhere close by or somewhere far away don’t forget about the golden arches and stopping by McDonald’s for a familiar treat!! Also- don’t forget that all small McCafe drinks are $2 all day…frappes included!!

Do you like road trips??
Are you road tripping any time soon??
What’s your favorite comfort food from McDonald’s??

It can be such a relief to see a McDonalds when we are traveling. Makes it easy to grab a quick bite to eat! We travel a lot in the summer and it is convenient to be able to make a pit stop at McD’s for food.

We watch for McDonald’s when we road trip. We all love their food, and it gives the trip such a fun vibe. It doesn’t feel like a road trip without that.

We do McDonald’s almost every time we go on a road trip. It’s easy, fast and my husband loves their Big Macs.

I have always loved going on road trips even when I was a little girl! I’ll admit that I don’t really go to McDonald’s that much since I’m a vegetarian, but I do love to have their french fries every now and then.

Whenever we are traveling, we almost always stop at McDonald’s. The kids prefer their food over any other fast food restaurant.

I do agree. When in a strange place where nothing seems familiar it is nice to see those golden arches!

I have been enjoying McCafe coffee. They cups never leak like the competitors do and it always tastes great. A definite must for road trips.

My order the other day took around 10 minutes to be ready, however it was very fresh and piping hot which was well worth the wait. McDonald’s one of my favorite fast food.

Road trips are always fun in my opinion. We always usually stop at McDonald’s when we are on a road trip. It is usually lunch when we stop and my favorite food literally is the Quarter Pounder with cheese but the Frappy takes second for sure. Thanks for sharing your road trip.

I’m not a huge fan of McDonalds for drinks, but that one you had in your hand did look amazing, and sinful. I may have to make a stop on by sometime soon.

Road tripping always meant stopping at the Golden arches at least once. The caramel frappe is so addicting. I also loved the Shamrock frappe. I vote for that one to stick around year-round. :)

McDonald’s has the best fries of any fast food restaurant. Sometimes I crave their chicken nuggets.
