Last night I got to cross another musical off my “Musical Bucket List” when I saw Phantom of the Opera at the Robinson Center in Little Rock!! Speaking of Musical Bucket Lists I really need to do a full post about that, I have a lot of shows to see!
I think I talked a little bit about the renovation of the Robinson Center in my Cinderella post but I didn’t realize at the time that Little Rock was missing out on a lot of shows because of the stage and the backstage areas. Now that are both quite a bit bigger than they were we can now get big shows like Phantom and The Lion King! I am really excited about what this means for the Little Rock musical scene.
I also took a little pre-show selfie in my car, duh. Fun fact- the show didn’t start until 7:30pm but I got there at 6pm just to get a good parking spot. Parking in downtown Little Rock is truly an art form in and of itself so you have to get there early in order not to walk a mile to the theater. Plus that gave me time to take some pics, go to the bathroom (You do NOT want to try and go during intermission) and grab a souvenir.
I love that for this show there were several selfie stations/photo booths set up so you could take pics with props from the show. So fun!!
I am also glad I got a pretty good seat for this show. For Cinderella I got a last minute ticket and was literally on the second from the top row in the upper balcony section. It was a cheap ticket and I got to see the show but I was extremely happy with my seat for this show. I will definitely be trying to get that seat again!! This was my view of the stage…
Confession- I couldn’t wait to see Phantom but I also had no idea what it was about. I’m a little embarrassed to even admit that. HA! I never saw the movie, sorry Gerard, and I never read anything about it pre-show. I’m kind of glad though because I went in with zero expectations and was truly blown away!! I loved The Phantom of the Opera!!
If you get the chance to see it I would highly recommend it!!

What an awesome experience! Your seats do look very good! I do not mind being off center from the stage but I do not like being in the nose bleed section LOL!
I would love to see more live theater and opera! Glad you got to go!

The Phantom of the Opera is the only musical I have seen on Broadway and it was oh so amazing. I just love the music, even if the story line is kind of strange if you sit and think about it. Glad you enjoyed it!

That is so cool that you got to see this play in person. I live near Fort Worth and I have always wanted to go see a play at Bass Hall. I think it would be an amazing experience.

I LOVE Phantom of the Opera! I’ve seen it at least five times and each time it’s a little different, but I fall in love over and over again! It’s so good! PS The bathroom situation during intermission is intense at our theater as well! It’s crazy!!!
