Face Mask Face Off! The Body Shop vs fresh Rose Masks

This post contains affiliate links.

A couple weeks ago I did my very first “Face Mask Face Off” and compared two of my favorite charcoal masks, The Body Shop’s Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask vs GlamGlow SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment, and everyone seemed to like that one so much that I decided to do another! So today’s Face Mask Face Off will be about another favorite mask type of mine, the rose mask!

Rose masks are super hydrating and can be used to give our skins tons of moisture while helping to balance out redness and reduce the look of your pores. Most rose masks smell amazing because they actually contain both rose petals and rose water. Confession- I used to hate the smell of roses (they reminded me of funerals) but now I love the fragrance!

The two rose masks I will be comparing today are The Body Shop’s British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask and fresh‘s Rose Face Mask. Alright…here we go!!

First things first…packaging and price because you only get one first impression. My eyes are immediately drawn to the fresh Rose Face Mask container because it is light and bright. fresh‘s Rose Face Mask comes in a plastic jar while The Body Shop’s British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask comes in a glass jar. Now, I only have the sample size jar of the fresh mask but I happen to know that the full size also only comes in plastic. So, while I like the glass jar from The Body Shop the packaging of fresh wins this one. Price wise fresh‘s Rose Face Mask clocks in at $62 for 3.3oz while The Body Shop’s British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask is $28 for 3oz.

So in this category fresh wins packaging and The Body Shop wins price!

Next up is smell! I don’t know about you but smell is MOST IMPORTANT to me. To me, both of these masks smell the exact same. They both have a really nice rosy smell to them. It’s not overpowering or funeral like at all (HA!) but it’s not super soft either.

So I guess this category is a tie for me!

Next category is texture! Texture is really important to me in a mask. Both of these were a little weird the first time I used them because when I think of a faca mask I think of a clay based mask that gets tight and you know it’s done. These rose masks are more gel based and both have tons of aloe vera in them so they aren’t going to dry up and make your face feel tight. To me, they both have the same texture and wipe off really well when done. They also both have real rose petals in them! BONUS!

So again, this category is tied for me!

Last category, which one worked best?? Honestly other than packaging and price I couldn’t tell a difference?? They both hydrated my skin really well and had an amazing, non-overpowering rose smell to them.

So again, a tie!!

Overall I really love both of these masks. Both masks are super hydrating and soothe my skin. Both have helped me combat facial redness. They are both equal in my eyes except the price. If you love fresh then buy fresh. If you want to save a little money but still get an amazing mask try The Body Shop. So there it is, a TIE!!!!

Have you ever tried a rose mask??

I wish my computer screen had a scratch and sniff capability because I know that smells awesome. Now I need to order my own so I can see for myself :)

Your skin always looks so pretty and glowing in your photos. I’ve never used a rose mask before. I want to try it. I like that the rose smell is not overpowering . . . like a funeral. LOL – love it!

I love face masks ! I always put a mask on at least thrice a week. I tried the way Koreans did it too which is everyday. Definitely makes your face radiant. I’ll try the body shops. = )

What a duo of great sounding masks, I have to admit I often stay away from anything rose scented as it smells awful on my skin but I might get away with it as a mask!

Yes! I normally don’t like rose stuff either but these feel so good on my face plus you wipe them off so it’s not on there for long!!

I haven’t been able to find a consistent facial routine I’ve liked yet. Either due to brand, or unfortunately inconsistent with my regimen. This one looks like a good one!

Sometimes you really do find two great products that you love equally – which is super frustrating because then you need both lol. I have still yet to try a rose mask, but which should I go with?

The Body Shop has some great, affordable products but I really do enjoy the Fresh line! I adore their classic lip balm. Have you ever tried it?!

It’s nice that the it hydrates and moisturize the skin yet it doesn’t have an overpowering scent. You would really feel fresh with the mask.
