Pumpkin Pecan Pie

This post contains affiliate links.

I realize that Thanksgiving was last week but it’s never too late for a yummy pie recipe. I don’t know about you but I can’t ever choose between Pumpkin Pie or Pecan Pie. A couple of years ago I found a recipe in a magazine for a Pumpkin Pecan Pie but I never made it. Instead I just filed it away in my “recipe” book and found it last week. The timing couldn’t have been better. I was off work and decided to make it! I used a store bought crust because I suck at crust but the rest is all me! I think it even turned out really pretty! Something my baked good usually are not…

To make this pie you just grab an unbaked crust (or make one yourself if you’re all about that life) and make the pumpkin pit part and put it on the bottom and then you make the pecan pie part and put it on tip of the pumpkin. Bake it and then you’re done! And it turns out soooo pretty!

Don’t tell the pumpkin pie part of this pie but I actually think my favorite pie is pecan pie. I love the sweet and the crunch and feeling like you’re actually eating something. Not that I don’t love pumpkin pie because I totally do, especially the part when you cover your piece with so much whipped cream that you can’t even see the pie anymore. HA! Just me? I hope not!

pieceofpie

I posted about this pie on Instagram last week when I made it and jokingly called it a “mullet pie” because it’s business on the top and a party on the bottom, or in your mouth. And as much as I really want to laugh at that it’s totally true! This pie is everything you could ever want in a pie and is perfect for holidays or any time of the year in my opinion!

You can find the full recipe below…

My husband’s favorite pie is pecan and I bake them every Thanksgiving and Christmas. I suck at making crusts and I buy the premade ones also. I’ve never tried adding pumpkin, but I think I’ll throw in this new twist next time I bake a pie.

Oh, I am intrigued. I have never seen a recipe for Pumpkin Pecan Pie! Pinning so I can make it too. Pecan Pie is my favorite. Those store bought pie crusts are not only delicious but huge time savers! I’m with you on that one.

ah – Pecan Pie is my specialty! I have this recipe of min that is perfection. This year I changed it up a bit and added some Apple Brandy and it knocked it out of the park – so stinking good!! I almost ate the entire pie myself!
