Favorite Facial Cleansers

This post contains affiliate links.

I have talked a lot about skincare on this blog but I feel like I have done so sporadically. So today I am starting a new mini series on my favorite skincare products. Today I am starting with facial cleansers and next week I am focusing on exfoliators. I will also cover toners, masks, serums, and moisturizers. If there is anything else you would like me to cover then please let me know!

facialcleansers

Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple One Stop Facial Cleanser / Garnier’s Smoothing Cream Cleanser / Clinique’s Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm / Peter Thomas Roth’s Glycolic Acid 3% Facial Wash / Bliss’s Fabulous Makeup Melt

One thing I have noticed in this roundup is that I prefer a cream cleanser to any other, I don’t like a ton of foam in my everyday cleansers as it’s pretty drying and I need all the moisture I can get. My skin is more of a combination type…oily in my t-zone and pretty normal to dry everywhere else, but I love super moisturizing products, especially in the winter and summer months. I also don’t have a ton of trouble with acne, I was blessed in that area, but I will definitely do a roundup with my favorite acne fighting products.

So let’s get to it!

ONE. Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple One Stop Facial Cleanser. This was one of my very first Sephora purchases and I still love it to this day. It’s a very mild face wash that is suitable for all skin types. It doubles as both a makeup remover and a face wash…this is important to know because most face washes only do one or the other but not both. This product is also fragrance free so it works well with people with sensitive skin!

TWO. Garnier’s Smoothing Cream Cleanser. I randomly found this cleanser on clearance at Target last year and picked up a bottle and fell in love with it. This cleanser is super creamy and takes even the most stubborn eye makeup off. It also leaves your skin super soft and isn’t harsh at all! This is seriously my absolute favorite facial cleanser to date. Since I found it it has been taken off shelves and I believe discontinued?? But don’t worry, I found it online and stocked up so I am set for a while now and I love you all so much I am sharing my source!

THREE. Clinique’s Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm. This is probably the most unique of all of the cleansers in they roundup simply because it is actually a balm very similar in texture to a lip balm. To use it you simply use your finger tips to work the balm into your face where it will transform into an oil. Now this is more of just a makeup remover so it’s always good to follower this up with another wash to clean your face. But it feels so damn good!! And as with all Clinique products is is fragrance free and hypoallergenic.

FOUR. Peter Thomas Roth’s Glycolic Acid 3% Facial Wash. This is a newer face wash for me. It is definitely more of a face wash and not a makeup remover so make sure your makeup is already off before you use this product. As I have gotten older one of my goals is to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and one way to do that is with a good glycolic acid face wash and this Peter Thomas Roth one is one of the very best.

FIVE. Bliss’s Fabulous Makeup Melt. This cleanser is actually a gel that turns into a facial oil upon contact with your skin. It does an amazing job of getting any type of make off and leaves your skin super clean without drying it out. This has also become a recent favorite of mine. It actually reminds me a lot of coconut oil.

And those are my top five favorite facial cleansers! I think next week will be about exfoliators. I will try and do this series in the orders in which I use the products…because I am OCD like that. HA!

What is your favorite facial cleanser??

Pretty great list of cleansers. I need to cleanse my skin more often. I usually do not wear makeup in the summer.

I’m feeling all kinds of validation right now. I swear by Philosophy, Purity. It is my thing, I have the travel set and the huge bottle in my bathroom. I use the cleanser and exfoliate one.

I’ve heard so many good things about the philosophy cleanser. I like the Garnier one. It’s the only one I have tried on this list.

My mother-in-law is a Philosophy fan. I love my St. Ives peach facial scrub. I have been using it for years. I guess when you find something you like it is hard to try something new.

I’ve tried so many facial cleansers and I always go back to Mary Kay. The Time-Wise cleanser is perfect for my “old” skin. :) When I travel, I use Neutrogena cleansing wipes. It’s so convenient.

The only product I have used of your favorites is the Garnier wash but my skin didn’t like it. I have very sensitive skin so finding a good cleanser is a challenge.

I tried Purity cleansers once, and I loved it! I’ve also been wanting to try Clinique’s Take The Day Off, but I just haven’t gotten around to purchasing it. I’ve heard nothing but good things!

I only use soap and water. I need to invest in a good facial cleanser. My skin has been pretty awesome lately but I know once baby arrives I’ll need some help!

Its great to have a skin routine you really love. I hate changing things up because I’m afraid of how my skin will react to it. But I like your skin routine. Sometimes you just find something that really works.

These all sound like great facial cleaners indeed. My face is not oil or to dry. I would love to try the Bliss’s Fabulous Make up Melt. It sounds like I would love it for the make up removal along with making the skin so soft. Thanks for sharing the facial cleaners.
