Friday Five No. 5

This post contains affiliate links.

Welcome to another edition of my Friday Five. I haven’t done one of these in a while so this post is highly overdue.

fridayfive

ONE. I recently started and finished Emily Maynard’s book, I Said Yes, in a day. It was soooo good!! If you need an inspiring story and a little “behind the scenes” look at life on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette then you should check it out.

i said yes

TWO. I went out to eat with Rebekah a few weeks ago to celebrate our graduations and we went to the Faded Rose in Little Rock. I haven’t been there in forever and she had never been. The food was creole and the drinks were amazing! I got two Bloody Mary’s (Yes, they were that good! I never get two drinks with dinner!!), seafood gumbo to start, crawfish etouffe for my entree, and the carmel drizzled cheesecake for desert. YUM!!!!

THREE. I have been making a lot of my favorite quotes into cute word art and sharing them on my Instagram. I seriously love this quote from The Perks of Being a Wallflower- “welcome to the island of misfit toys…”

island of misfit toys

FOUR. One of my favorite things about Kroger and grocery shopping in general is the “build your own six pack” station in the beer aisle. I love trying new drinks but don’t like committing to an ant ire six pack unless I really like something. I love the Abita Strawberry and Abita Purple Haze so I grabbed this Abita Big Easy last week and it was pretty good! Abita is a Louisiana beer and one of my faves!!

FIVE. Since I am never going to get around to doing a full post on my April Birchbox I decided to just show it to you here…

April Birchbox

Marcelle 3-in-1 Micellar Solution / TOCCA Crema da Mano – Hand Cream / PARLOR® by Jeff Chastain Volumizing Lifting Spray / Laura Geller New York Baked Blush-n-Brighten (Pink Grapefruit) / Dr. Jart+ Liftra™ Contour Cream

..the one thing I really wanted in this box, the Laura Geller blush, was broken when I received it but I still got to use and actually may end up buying it. It’s a great color for spring/summer/warmer months!! If you are interested in Birchbox check out my link! Thanks!!

What books have you been reading lately??
What is your favorite drink??

I just started reading In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware. I’m only about 70 pages in and I’m already on the edge of my seat. All the quotes say it’s suspenseful so I can’t wait to really get into it.

Reading a book is something I really need to do. I don’t have much patience for sitting and reading but a good book would probably cure that. Thanks for the reminder. What a shame the blush was broken! I hate when that happens, it looks like a pretty color too.

I love that quote. I never read the book, but I did see the movie and it was a masterpiece. The picture you made with the quote is gorgeous.

What a great list! I do not drink alcohol, so I like my bloody Mary without, but I love the hot spice of a good Virgin Mary! Now you got my mouth watering!

If you contact Birchbox about your broken item, they usually will replace it for free! Just a tip for next time. I stopped getting Birchbox and this post really makes me want to opt back in. Great stuff! I’m not a huge fan of IPAs but this one looks interesting :)
