carmelappleproteinwaffles

I don’t know about you but sometimes I just need breakfast for dinner. I’m not really a huge breakfast food fan in the mornings but at night? Bring it on!!!

I finished my last final exam yesterday and went to the movies to celebrate and so all I had eaten prior to dinner was a big ole tub of popcorn and some peanut butter m&ms. Needless to say I was in dire need of something semi-healthy for dinner so I decided to spice up my usual waffle mix by adding some protein powder to it. I had some vanilla protein powder on hand and added that to my waffle mix, I did half waffle mix and half vanilla protein powder and it was delish!!

I am usually just a maple syrup kind of girl but like I said, I was feeling feisty yesterday and decided to jazz up my protein waffle with a pack of Big Slice Kettle Cooked Apples, some sugar free carmel sauce, and a dollop of whipped cream. Y’all. Not to brag or anything but this waffle was phenomenal!!! And I didn’t even feel all that guilty eating it!! Score one for me!!

waffles

The kind people over at Big Slice were nice enough to send me a big ole box of their products to try and I have to say that I’m kind of obsessed with them after this lovely concoction I made. I have seen them at Target before but always assumed they were for kids beucase they were in a pouch but that is not the case!! Just because they are in a pouch doesn’t mean they are for kids.

I used the Kettle Cooked ones to top my waffle with because I knew I wanted to add the carmel but Big Slice Apples come in over 16 different flavors!! Each pouch contains real apples pieces that are GMO-free, USA grown, have no high fructose corn syrup, and are naturally gluten and fat free! Each pouch is also under 100 calories. Healthy and delicious? Sounds too good to be true.

One of the big things that I love about Big Slice is that you can use them in recipes as I have done, or just take them to eat on the go. They come in all sorts of fun flavors like Lemon Berry, Blueberry Pomegranate, Orange Ginger, Cinnamon Candy, Caramel, and more!! They are very versatile and I love that!! I love carrying snacks with me to much on all day because I have been known to get hungry pretty quick! HA!

Want to know the best thing about Big Slice?? They want to give one of my readers the chance to win a big ole box full of stuff just like I got!! You can enter below to win a 12 pack of assorted samples, a Big Slice tumbler, and a spork or jar, total value $50!! Just enter below to win…

I love my veggies – but I know I don’t consume enough protein for sure. And anything with caramel is better right

I am so jealous! That box of goodies looks amazing, and so does your waffle.

I make almond flour pancakes sometimes for breakfast, and based on your recipe, next time I am going to add some of the vanilla protein powder that I have to see how it goes.
