I can’t believe my road trip recap is almost over!! That makes me sad!! I guess that just means it’s time to start planning my next adventure??
After along couple of weeks on the road with my bestie we drove from Cambridge to Ohio in one day. It was a long trip and of course we got stuck in traffic a few times but we finally made it. I dropped her off at her house and then spent a few days with my grandparents before heading back to Arkansas.
Going home is always bittersweet. I love my grandparents and spending time with them but I also really wanted my own bed that was 9 hours away and that I hadn’t seen in a few weeks.
On going home day, I loaded up my car, waved goodbye, and hit the road with my Sophie girl. I am happy to report that she actually missed me while I was gone and she was with my grandparents and I know this because she never left my side once she saw me. LOL! What a sweet girl…she even didn’t mind taking a selfie!!
Someone slept almost the entire trip…
…and someone else made several coffee/bathroom stops along the way! By the way that Chips Ahoy Iced Coffee from Dunkin Donuts is the BEST THING I HAVE EVER PUT IN MY MOUTH. #ThatsWhatSheSaid
The closer we got to home…
…the happier someone was.
And then we finally made it. I can honestly say that I have never been more happy to be home. It smelled the same and my bed felt the same and my poor washer/dryer may never be the same after doing all that laundry. HA!
I unpacked and found my souvenirs…
…and then I felt really sad of knowing that it was all over and that real life had to happen the next day. It was truly the trip of a lifetime and I am so glad I got to share it with my best friend!
It sounds like one heck of a trip. I get the part about wanting to go home, but kind of not wanting to at the same time. You can always head out again next year :)
I loved reading about all of your road trips. I do understand the joys of finally being home though too! There’s no place like home.
I love going to road trips, you find so much great stuff that you wouldn’t have if you just flew in. Exploring the world in a car or on foot is one of best ways to learn about the area. Thanks for taking us on your trip!
What an amazing adventure! I like to travel too, roadtrips are so much fun, but it’s always really nice to come home (and sleep in my own bed)!
I need to do this, I’ve been following your journey and it sounds like such a great time. I’m overdue for a great adventure.
Such a fun trip! We just got back from our week long vacation and I know just how you feel about coming home. I was ready, but missed the cabin as SOON as we were pulling out of the driveway there, headed home. :( That Chips Ahoy iced coffee?? Gotta get me summa that! :D
There is nothing like going on a good road trip with your Bff and your dog! But I agree, there is nothing better then coming come to your own bed! Where to next?
You seriously had the coolest trip ever. It really reminded me I need to travel more for myself because I don’t always get to see a lot when traveling for work.
Any journey always has Home as its end point. I would love to go on an adventure like yours. It seemed like so much fun and you were able to see and experience so much.
Sounds like you had a lot of fun. I’ve only ever done 1 road trip. A really long one. I was actually a bit bored. I guess it depends who you’re with and what you do.
What a wonderful journey with your friend. I love the mugs! I wish I could go on a road trip with my friend, too.
such a fun road trip.. wish i could do that.. i need to take a break from my busy life and explore new places.
I love road trips and whenever we visit a new place, I make sure to get me some souvenirs.I love those mugs you’ve got. So darn cute!
I would be so sad too, sounds like you had an amazing trip! Can’t wait to hear about the next one you plan and take! I hope to someday be in the spot to take road trips!
Must be so much fun to do a road trip with your bestie. The best part of it is that even your fur baby is with you.
It was so much fun!! Sophie actually states at my Grandparents and I picked her up on my way home :)
You just made me realize what I want to collect for souvenirs now! I practically live off coffee, at least to wake up in the morning, I love those cups! Really great photos.
I love souvenirs but I am so over t-shirts!! HA!! I love coffee too and seeing those cups makes me remember where I was when I got them!
I love going on rad trips. I always get a little depressed the first few days home. I love the mugs you collected.
This sounds like you had so much fun. Your dog is so adorable. I am planning my next road trip right now.
I’ve always thought its so strange how you can be on the best trip ever and yet home is just so great to get back to.
Looks like you had a awesome road trip and iced coffee to boot. =) Thanks for sharing your travels.
Road trips are kind of amazing. I need Dunkin’ Donuts to fuel my trips too! ;D
I’m afraid I have become a little bit obsessed with DD!! HA!
I feel the same way when I travel! I went to CA last summer and all I could think when I was there was I WANT TO GO HOME, then when I got there I was like NO! IT’s over!! what happened?! lol
