Road Trip Recap: Home

This post contains affiliate links.

I can’t believe my road trip recap is almost over!! That makes me sad!! I guess that just means it’s time to start planning my next adventure??

After along couple of weeks on the road with my bestie we drove from Cambridge to Ohio in one day. It was a long trip and of course we got stuck in traffic a few times but we finally made it. I dropped her off at her house and then spent a few days with my grandparents before heading back to Arkansas.

Going home is always bittersweet. I love my grandparents and spending time with them but I also really wanted my own bed that was 9 hours away and that I hadn’t seen in a few weeks.

On going home day, I loaded up my car, waved goodbye, and hit the road with my Sophie girl. I am happy to report that she actually missed me while I was gone and she was with my grandparents and I know this because she never left my side once she saw me. LOL! What a sweet girl…she even didn’t mind taking a selfie!!

Someone slept almost the entire trip…

…and someone else made several coffee/bathroom stops along the way! By the way that Chips Ahoy Iced Coffee from Dunkin Donuts is the BEST THING I HAVE EVER PUT IN MY MOUTH. #ThatsWhatSheSaid

The closer we got to home…

…the happier someone was.

And then we finally made it. I can honestly say that I have never been more happy to be home. It smelled the same and my bed felt the same and my poor washer/dryer may never be the same after doing all that laundry. HA!

I unpacked and found my souvenirs…

…and then I felt really sad of knowing that it was all over and that real life had to happen the next day. It was truly the trip of a lifetime and I am so glad I got to share it with my best friend!

It sounds like one heck of a trip. I get the part about wanting to go home, but kind of not wanting to at the same time. You can always head out again next year :)

I loved reading about all of your road trips. I do understand the joys of finally being home though too! There’s no place like home.

I love going to road trips, you find so much great stuff that you wouldn’t have if you just flew in. Exploring the world in a car or on foot is one of best ways to learn about the area. Thanks for taking us on your trip!

You seriously had the coolest trip ever. It really reminded me I need to travel more for myself because I don’t always get to see a lot when traveling for work.

Sounds like you had a lot of fun. I’ve only ever done 1 road trip. A really long one. I was actually a bit bored. I guess it depends who you’re with and what you do.

Must be so much fun to do a road trip with your bestie. The best part of it is that even your fur baby is with you.
