Road trip recap is finally happening! WOOHOO!! This will take a few days and most posts will probably be a major photo overload so please bear with me.
Day One – I left work early, at 3pm, and drove halfway to Ohio and stayed the night in a weird LaQuinta Inn. Did you know that pets stay free at LaQuinta Inns?? Genius!! Someone took to hotel life like peanut butter to jelly…
On my way to Ohio I drove through Arkansas (duh), Tennessee, Kentucky and finally Ohio. Halfway there Sophie decided to sit in the backseat rather than her carseat. Whatever makes her happy…
Sweet Sophie stayed with my grandparents and got spoiled rotten, or shall I say more rotten than she already is? HA!! I visited with them for a little while and then I went to my bestie/fellow road tripper/sorority sister’s house to stay the night so we could leave early the next morning!!
The next morning we got up at the crack of dawn, loaded the car down, and set off for our first stop!!
We traveled through Ohio (duh), West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia. I am a little bit obsessed with road signs, if you couldn’t tell already, so here you go…
After driving all day and through all of those states, we finally reached our first stop on our epic road trip…
To be continued…
You got to see a ton on your road trip I was in PA recently, too, and I loved it there. I want to go to Ohio next.
Looks a great start to an awesome road trip. Now where is that last picture taken at?!
Sounds like so much fun! I cannot wait to hear more. I live in West Virginia! Did you stop in any part of WV?
This look like a fun road trip! I love road trips, you see so much more of the country and all it’s beauty! Can’t wait to read more.
Your furbaby is super cute! Sounds like you guys had an epic adventure!
Ugh! No I did not know that. I will look in to it further. As I love to travel and want to take my two small dogs with me. Lately I have been day trips or over nights leaving the dogs at home. Thank you for writing this blog.
Yes to road trips! Looking forward to seeing the next installment – bring on the photos! And hurry up. :)
Your fuzzy little travel companion is so cute! It looks like the little furry friend had a great time, too! It’s so nice when you can bring your pets.
I love road trips but not when I’m pregnant with a toddler. LOL :P Looks like you had fun!

You passed by me hehehe. It’s nice when an establishment can accomodate pets too, it’s makes it easier for pet owners.
Sounds like you guys had an awesome time on your road trip! Can’t wait to see what happens in the next post!
We love road trippin’ and I make sure to take photos of the state signs too. It’s just so fun, isn’t it? :) The husband has been wanting to take us to Ohio and see the Reds play against the Braves. Hopefully soon! :)
How fun! I’m a Pennsylvania girl living in the Arkansas world too!! We actually just got back from PA after a few weeks of visiting family and friends :D I can’t wait to hear about the rest of your trip :D
What a great start to an awesome road trip. I love that you have a 4 legged backseat passenger! I have been using RoadTrippers to plot and plan my next road trip. I miss the days of just getting in the car and taking off somewhere.
I didn’t know pets could stay free at La Quinta. That is good to know. And you have a cute doggie. :)
That looks like Monticello on your first stop. Am I right? I lived in Virginia for the majority of my life, but I never visited there. That’s sad, I know. Give me a shout when you get to North Carolina.
What a fun road trip! And you passed so close! I’m in PA, not far from MD!
This sounds like a fantastic road trip. I am going on one with my friend at the end of summer. I have never thought to bring the dogs with us.
I did not know that about LaQuinta. That’s great news for people who like to travel with their pets.
I’m already tuned in to this adventure and it hasn’t even gotten good yet. I love the pictures of your dog, Sophie looks like a traveling natural. I live in MD I see you rode past me. :)
I had to pass through Virginia to get to NYC for my own roadtrip! One day I want to actually go and visit Virginia and have fun
I love road trips and they are always heaps of fun! Sounds like you will make heaps of memories along the way!
I’ll have to remember that you can take pets with you to LA Quinta hotels. I usually don’t travel with my pets though but never know we might in the future. I hope you have fun on your trip.
