WILW: Indian Healing Clay

This post contains affiliate links.

I was getting ready to write this post and realized I haven’t done a WILW (What I’m Loving Wednesday) post in forever!! Sorry about that!! If you are new here I usually post what products I am loving at the moment on Wednesdays, mostly beauty products but sometimes household stuff too, just whatever!

WILW

Today’s WILW is an “Aztec Secret”, Indian Healing Clay. I had never heard of this product until recently but apparently is been around for a long time. I am big advocate of proper skincare because let’s face it, you only have one face for your entire life and you need to take care of it!! That sounds a little weird but you get the point.

I read in an article online recently that said that you really need to get a facial at least once a week to really exfoliate your skin properly but let’s be real here…who has the time and the funds to do that? Not me.

I think at home masks work just as well if you get one that is right for your face. I have tried several and was always left feeling like it was missing something. My face would feel greasy after, or too dry, or just blah. And then I tried the Indian Healing Clay. It was magical. Or something like that…LOL!

It comes in a powder form…

powder

…and you can mix it with water or apple cider vinegar and from the reviews I read online it mixes easiest with the vinegar so I did it that way. I forgot to take a pic because I was too excited to get it on my face! HA!

Also you can’t mix it with metal so I used a glass bowl and plastic spoon.

SO you mix this bad boy up and leave it on your face for 5-10 minutes for sensitive skin or 15-20 minutes for normal skin. The back of the jar says “Feel your face PULSATE” but I never felt any pulsating and I left it on for about 20 minutes.

This mask is supposed to be good at removing impurities and dirt from your pores, helping with acne, as a clay bath or foot soak, and for insect bites. Personally I loved how my skin felt after. It felt tight and clean. it didn’t leave me feeling oily at all and it wasn’t drying either.

I washed mine off in the shower because I heard it was really messy to get off and I did have to scrub pretty hard to get it off. When I was down with my shower, I patted my face dry and put on some super thick, heavy moisturizer (that I had a free sample of) and went about my day as normal. I think on a “normal day” I would use this before bed so the moisturizer can soak in really good. Since I wasn’t going anywhere the day I tried this I was fine.

Overall I really liked this mask. I love the price and the fact that you get so much!! It is definitely a keeper in my book!!

I’m not getting any compensation at all to post this and I did include a few links in this post and I am not getting any compensation for those either, I just really love this stuff!!

Have you ever tried Indian Healing Clay??
Do you have a mask you love??

Well, bummer that it didn’t pulsate on your skin…that would have been awesome! No, I’ve not tried that brand. I’ve never even heard of it. I will have to see if I can find it and see if it likes my skin more than yours and does it’s pulsating trick :)

I will try anything that will help with acne – my biggest pet peeve! I must try this product and see how it works on my face!

I have sensitive skin, so I usually steer clear of facial masks. With that being said, I heard GREAT things about this product and have actually been meaning to try it.

I also have super sensitive skin but clay masks generally are the best. I would probably mix it up with water as the vinegar might be too rough on my skin. I would like to try this–do they have samples?

I have sensitive skin, but I’m a skin masque lover! Some of my favorites are even ones made with ingredients from the home (oatmeal, honey, etc) BUT you’re not the first person I have heard talk about this clay. I am going to add this to my wish-list and give this a try! Clay is so good for the skin and body!

I’ve never heard of it before, but it sure looks good. I would love to try it myself. Your eyes look really amazing in the mask picture, just had to throw that out there.

This is the first I’ve heard of Indian Healing Clay, but it sounds like a great mask for your skin. Now that I’m in my 40’s, I really am paying a lot more attention to my face. Moisture is being sucked out of it on a daily basis!

It looks really effective and can really declog those pores in the skin. It would really help keep your face clean and free from impurities.

I have heard of this, but with such sensitive skin I am reticent to try something other than my usual brands… Still, it is intriguing and the reviews are so good.

I love masks because my skin is so dry all the time and they help to hydrate it. Clay is so great at removing all those impurities. I will have to give this one a try! Thanks for your reviews:)
