The Girl Behind the Blog

This post contains affiliate links.

I haven’t done an “about me” post in a long time and I feel like with so many new faces around here that’s a little overdue. Plus I just really love that graphic…LOL! So here we go, a little bit about me…

ONE. I am from Arkansas. Yes, everyone wears shoes. No, we don’t all have crazy accents.

TWO. I am single. I am turning 32 this week and I can honestly say that I am very happy with where I am in life.

THREE. I am dog mom to the cutest little mischief maker on the planet, my Sophie puppy. I keep calling her a puppy even though she is 3.5 years old. She’s tiny so I will probably always call her that.

FOUR. I am very OCD and have to plan everything out but lately I’ve been trying to be more spontaneous. Hence the road trip I am taking with Rebekah next week to go to Dallas and see Maroon 5 in concert.

FIVE. I am obsessed with musicals. Love them. So far I have been to West Side Story (in NYC!!!), The Wizard of Oz, Wicked (twice), Beauty in the Beast (twice), and Mary Poppins. I have plans to see The  Lion King this month, and Mary Poppins again next month. I have saved all of my programs from every show I have been to and I want to do something cool with them. Any ideas??

SIX. I am back in school for Bachelor’s degree number two. My first degree is in Cardio-Respiratory Care (Respiratory Therapy) and I love my job and the people I work with but I think it’s always good to have a backup plan because in the is day and age you just never know what might happen. So I am currently attending UALR to get a Bachelor’s in E-Commerce. It’s a mix of business and computer science.

SEVEN. I love to read!! I am always reading a book, most of the time a couple at a time. I have one on my nightstand (The Luxe), one on my Kindle (The Collector), and one on audiobook I listen to while I get ready in the mornings and when I drive (The Goldfinch).

EIGHT. I love going to the movies. I actually love going solo more than with other people but this Friday Rebekah and I are going to see 50 Shades of Grey!!!  I. Can’t. Wait. We got tickets at a newly renovated theatre in town that has recliners! What, what?!

NINE. I’m currently working on my fitness. I really don’t like to workout but I’m finding the more I do it, it’s not so bad. I’m not going to say I love it, I probably never will, but I know I need to move my booty and get some of this weight off. Ugh. At least there is lots of eye candy at the gym to watch!!

TEN. I am currently planning my vacation for this summer and am taking a road trip with one of my best friends/sorority sisters and we are going to Washington DC, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, NYC, Boston, and Salem. I can’t even tell you how excited I am about this. I have been to NYC but never any of the other places. This trip will be epic and if anyone has any suggestions of places to eat of things to do in those areas please let me know! We are in the process of getting White House Tour passes and tickets to see a broadway show (I’m thinking Aladdin?!) but that’s it so far.

I guess that’s enough about me, now I want to know about you!! Where is one place that you are dying to go??

That graphic is awesome!! I love the part about not going barefoot (outside, anyway). When we first moved to SC over 20 years ago I had to run to the grocery store and saw several people barefoot!!! When I returned home and told my husband, I said, “We’re not in GA anymore.” :) I’ve come to love SC and haven’t seen any bare feet lately.

I always love learning about the blogger behind the blog! I am really dying to go on a trip to Europe right now particularly Ireland and Italy, but I don’t see a trip to either place in my future :)

I love the new recliner seats at the theater. It’s our favorite theater for dates since they updated it. Which is nice because that is where we went on our first date way back in 2000. We like to go to Whole Foods before the movie and sneak in healthy snacks…lol

Um, this might be weirdish of me, but I think we should be friends. We have a lot in common!

Also, how did you decide on e-commerce? I’m looking at going back to school and can’t decide on a masters or what.

I am a major bookworm too! It also helps (and maybe hurts?!) that I work in a book store.

Woohoo East Coast Roadtrip! Boston is my favorite city, by far! Salem is pretty awesome too! DC/Philly/AC are fun! The spy Museum in DC is pretty awesome (not one of the free ones sadly, but still pretty cool).

We have the recliner seats at most of our new theaters anymore and we can eat and drink! It’s the best thing ever, ha! I saw Fifty Shades!!! Hope you enjoyed the movie!
