How to Make Money Blogging Part Two

This post contains affiliate links.

Happy Monday!! Today I am back with part 2 of my “How to Make Money Blogging” mini series! If you missed part one last week you can check it out HERE.

Last week I told you about my favorite blogging networks to join to get sponsored posts and today I will tell you about a few more ways to make money blogging.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is something I used to do but haven’t in a while. It doesn’t work well for me but I know some people who make lots of money from it! Basically Affiliate Marketing is done a couple of ways. You can out ads on your page and get paid per click or you can write blog posts full of key words and get paid per click. Affiliate marketing is good for you if you have a ton of interaction on your page. Some of the Affiliate Marketing networks I used were ShareASale and Ebay Enterprise. I have also heard amazing things about the Amazon Affiliate Marketing network but sadly it isn’t available in some states, such as Arkansas.

Brand Ambassador

If there is a company you really and truly like reach out to them!! Most companies have brand ambassadors that are bloggers and if you are truly passionate about the company/product then more than likely they are a perfect fit for your blog. Reach out and email the company and share your passion and your blog info and see what happens. You may get a new product to review and that may turn into a brand ambassadorship! You never know unless you try! Some of my faves have been with Chobani and Soda Stream!

Blog Conferences

You have to spend money to make money. Have you heard that one before? I sure have. Yes, blog conferences cost money but you can also make relationships that could lead to money making opportunities in the future. I have been to two Bloggy Boot Camps and have made some of my best relationships with brands this way. Exchange business cards like crazy with the brand representatives and follow up after the conference and you may just land a great opportunity!!

I hope you have learned a few things both last week and this week and I really hope you will follow up and join some networks or pitch some companies!! We are all in this together!!

Do you have some tips on making money with your blog??

Partnerships and reviews have worked well for me. Also, I offer a product, my books, and that’s another source of income.

I’ve made more from sponsored posts than anything else. I do make some from ads, but not too much so far.

Great tips! I have a brand package that I offer and its very detailed and definitely worth the price I think. I always try to remind myself to value myself.

This is very helpful advice for bloggers. I have yet to set up a PR page on my blog but it is on my ‘to-do’ list. I find Affiliate relationships to be fun but not particularly profitable. Maybe one day when the following is much larger… I agree that a combination of avenues are necessary to create a profit margin while blogging.

Great tips, Ricci! Although I’ve done the first 2, I would love to attend a blogging conference and building connections that way. Do they have a lot of brands usually that come out? I guess that sounds practical, but I never thought of it before! Thanks for sharing :)

Affiliate marketing has worked very well for me and helped my blog turn into a full time career. I prefer it more than other ways making money with my blog. As of right now, I’m working on ways to make money with sponsorships to grow my blog business even more by going to my first conference in Oct. to the Bloggy Boot Camp and Wow conference in Nov.

Thanks for all of the helpful info. I just read both of your posts and applied to a few new blogging networks. Have you tried BlogHer yet? I’m still trying to decide if it’s a good fit for my blog. I have done just about everything you mentioned in this post. Oh, I also told all of the blogging networks that I was referred by you. Hopefully you will get a little bonus! ;)
